*UPDATE: I decided to give them a second try, to redeem themselves. This time I tried the pizza. Nasty nasty nasty! Factory made CARDBOARD crust - horrible. Any frozen pizza from the store tastes better than this! I'm really quite sad about this, as I was hoping that a neighborhood Pizzeria would be so convenient. I won't be returning - EVER. I'm guessing the majority of their good reviews must be paid, or bots. None of them describe anything like the subpar food I've received from this location
Within the last week I moved to the area and was hoping to find a great neighborhood spot. So far, this is not it. Although I will give them another chance and perhaps try their pizzas and sandwiches. The salad I had, with chicken, was pretty awful. The "grilled" chicken was cold, rubbery, thin and dry. The tomatoes were mushy and the dressing proportion was hardly adequate to cover the salad. I will give them kudos for the salad it was quite large. The bread was clearly stale. The piece I got, half of it was so hard it couldn't even be cut through, the other half was fairly soft and edible. They could do...
Read moreLast night I went to a place that has been on my list for quite a while. I went to Pizzeria Di Maria in Carol Stream. It's a takeout and delivery place. They have a small ledge in the lobby and I ate there because the pizza wouldn't have been good after traveling all the way home. This place uses a CUTLER rotating deck oven that has 7 decks. While my pizza was cooking I chatted with the owner Dean. He is a very nice guy and tries really hard to give his customers the best product. He uses GRANDE cheese and makes his own sausage in house. I went with the 14" sausage pizza. Very crispy and firm crust with a light dusting of cornmeal and cooked perfectly in that CUTLER oven. The sauce had some oregano and a very fresh tomato taste. The GRANDE cheese is the best and it's silky smooth with a great flavor. Dean's homemade sausage didn't disappoint. The sausage was very juicy and had a good amount of fennel. All of the ingredients just went together perfectly and you could almost taste the freshness of the ingredients. This was a damn good pizza and I highly recommend...
Read moreHad a pizza party for my teams at work. Placed order in advance and everything was smooth. Owner even took 15% off my order. Pizza arrived on time and the delivery guy brought pizzas in and helped us setup. Let me say Pizzeria Di Maria's pizza is top 3 pizza in the area. Pizza's were loaded with cheese and toppings and it was good. What I like about Di Maria's is they are not cheap with cheese and toppings. The pizza came fresh and hot and the owner even threw in a free 18" and didn't even tell us. We over ordered and are teams smashed these pizzas like it was the last supper.
I would highly recommend Pizzeria Di Maria's over Rosatis or any other establishment near by. Let me some this up. If you want excellent thin crust pizza good flavor in sauce and heavy cheese and toppings, search no more Pizzeria Di Maria's is the place. Next time I order for my team, we will be back. Keep up...
