I went today on Mother’s Day to treat my mom and family to have breakfast. The lady at the front door I didn’t catch her name (skinny lady), was rude to my mom, who was nice to her when greeting her. We were told it would take 25-30 minutes to be seated and after 45 minutes waiting my mom asked her how long we still had to wait since other people who arrived after us were being seated. She said it would be soon. It’s not the fact that we waited longer (54min total after being told 25-30) than originally expected, it’s the fact that the lady did not communicate that there was a delay and my mom had to be treated with the lady’s rude demeanor and attitude on Mother’s Day when she asked. How hard is it to just quickly go right outside in the heat where we were waiting btw, and say “sorry for the wait it will take a little longer than expected.” Also that same lady was rude to me when she brought my coffee, asked whose coffee it was without even making eye contact with anyone at the table and overall just had a very rude demeanor the entire time. I would recommend giving her better people training or put someone nicer at the door. That being said once we got seated the waitress Zuli was the nicest waitress we could ask for, really sweet lady and great service. The food itself was really good, nice sit down spot, really clean and for a busy Mother’s Day the food was...
Read moreI was on vacation this past weekend and I came across this restaurant online. If you’re a party of 8 or more, I do not recommend. The place is nice and aesthetic. When my family and I got there, they told us the wait was 30min and it was actually an hour. We were then seated and asked for our drinks, it took another hour for the food to come out. Everyone in my table got their food expect for me and one other person. Then they brought out the food for the other person and I was the only one waiting, was told it’ll be out soon. Time passed and everyone was done eating. I told the waitress to cancel my order because it’s insane everyone ate at my table and I was still waiting and I was told my “eggs” was a “special request” and that was the delay when I ordered exactly how it’s offered on the menu and my cousin got the same plate and she ate. I then spoke to the manager at the end and she was unfazed like if it’s a norm and told me she wasn’t aware of the issue and to have a nice day, didn’t even care. I’ve never been treated like this at a restaurant and I would make sure I don’t ever recommend this place and make sure it’s a place to NOT go too. Photo below is of everyone finished eating and I had nothing in...
Read moreI was very disappointed when I arrived at Hijos de la Gran Fruta this morning (5/3/25). My friend and I walked 30 minutes from our Airbnb and arrived at 8:55am. I inquired if we could wait inside until they opened at 9am due to the rain and we were denied, which was ok. A couple arrived (one in a wheelchair) at 9am, and we all waited outside for 15 minutes. At 9:15am we all ended up leaving because the workers didn't open. I'm very disappointed, but got a really good breakfast at the panaderia up the road. Edit following reply from establishment: The power was not out when we tried to visit the establishment. Lights where on in the kitchen, music was blasting inside the kitchen, and there were people prepping food. I briefly spoke to a guy inside the kitchen and several staff members arrived a couple of minutes after 9am and saw us waiting outside. If there was "no power", we could have been notified but as stated before, that was not the case. The...
