I would call it a hidden gem, except for the fact that it's so crowded. I can only speak of the "All You Can Eat" Pork Chop nights. I've been to many over the years and they are always excellent.
Pros: The idea is an all you can eat "family style" meal featuring some rather wonderful Pork Chops. Sides include the standard rustic fair: Mashed Potatoes, gravy, applesauce, cole slaw, etc. Not terribly imaginative, but all is very tasty.
The price is amazing for the food you get as well. For what you would spend on a burger at any of the sit down chains in Springfield, you can eat all of the delicious food you want.
Seating is comfortable and staff are prompt and helpful.
Cons: (this is definitely nitpicking because I really enjoy going here)
It's in Carrollton, IL :( It's a long way from anywhere and there isn't anything else nearby, so it's a considerable drive from civilization just for a meal. Again, that shouldn't stop you, just understand...

Tuesdays and Thursdays are the all you can eat pork chop specials which start off with four pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, apple sauce and coleslaw. All of these items are served in individual bowls with more available as you request them.
The pork chops were excellent - fried in a batter and free of too much fat or gristle and moist. Perfect!...and all for a reasonable price. Plates and glasses were very clean and the waitress was very quick, friendly and helpful as well as the staff. Thank you for a great dining experience!
The decor was very simple but comfortable, like being at home.
All told, if you're in town, don't miss this one of a kind local and classy...
Read moreJust wanted to drop a line to let you know the food was absolutely delish this entire weekend at Becoming and Outdoors Woman at Camp Piasa.
Your Server was the best... kept everything moving smooth. Was a joy to see her smiling face at each meal.
SOOO, the only negative I have is she would NOT reveal any trade secrets. I must know, do you share any recipes?
Like the Spinach Lasagna... to die for... or maybe the macaroni twist salad on Saturday afternoon... so vinegary.. yet sweet... more than to die for... first you die, then you come back for a second bite!
Thank you again... Great food,...
