Okay, so I was recommended here by some locals. First and foremost, I am an ice cream fiend, so I don't rate one of my favorite foods lightly. To start off, I ordered the Big Dipper, which is 3 (gigantic) scoops of ice cream. I ordered the Bourbon Pecan Pie, which is basically a "bourbon" ice cream with pecans and chocolate. I gotta say, 3 scoops doesn't sound like much, but when I say they are big scoops, I mean they're BIG. It's basically a pint anywhere else. Yeah, it's a bit more than if you buy a quart at the store, but it's better than 90% of what's in stores. Plus, you're paying for a fun place to have ice cream. I ordered mine to go, since I didn't want others to see my face as I eat this, and it was packaged very conveniently which was very appreciated. The store is fun, though they do promote outdoor eating, so might be a bit uncomfortable in inclement weather, but refer to above on the takeout option I mentioned. The staff were very polite and fun to speak with, and we're very nice. It's very clean, and has some good options to choose from. Overall, a fun visit and a nice treat that I will visit again, especially with family and friends.

The Downtown Dip is my favorite place by far to get a sweet treat in Southern Illinois!! The staff are so friendly and the ice cream is delicious! The atmosphere is 100/10, I always leave with a smile on my face! Give them a follow on social media to find out about the fun events and specials they have! 💗🍦😋 🍨✨️

10/10 would recommend this delightful establishment to fill EVERY icecream need!! FAR superior to DQ or any corporate icecream shop. Do your taste buds a favor and give this place a spin! Did I mention the waffle cones are made in house? Skip the bowl, get a waffle cone!! :)

Downtown dip in Cartiville is amazing, amazing staff, atmosphere, amazing ice cream. Marion is not the same though, the atmosphere is kinda, weird, and I get grossed out when I see workers not wear gloves so, obviously when NONE of their staff was wearing gloves, and girl making waffle cones touching everything made me a little grossed out. Ice cream is still good, but, honestly wouldn’t recommend eating inside, it’s really weird atmosphere, and I just get a sick feeling watching someone touch everything without gloves. I do recommend going if you can’t eat Dairy they always has a few options! I will be traveling out of my way a bit to cartiville just because it feels...
