I wish I would have taken pictures! This was our first time eating here and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was beyond impressed and I'm pretty particular about my dining experience. It was a Friday during lent and I am on a low carb diet so my expectations were pretty high and I was hungry. Our waitress was fantastic. The owner did a perfect job of table touching and making everyone feel welcome. I didn't feel pestered and yet didn't want for anything. Our food took longer than fast food to make, but it was OBVIOUS when it came out that was because the attention to detail was SUPERB. My husband had the beer battered catfish that was flaky delicious and HUGE. I had the Salmon that was cooked to perfection and was actually the advertised size of 8oz (if not more!). We both had asparagus and it was so yummy. If I had one suggestion it would be that they add a sugar free low carb dressing of some kind. I must say that I had the salad anyway with no dressing and while a few more tomatoes would have been nice the greens were SO fresh and tasty I gobbled them up without a care that there wasn't any dressing. More proof? The table next to us had a young boy that wanted them to keep bringing him more lettuce and sliced tomatoes for his buger! All of the staff were incredible and brought him at least 3 plates of 'extras'. It warmed my heart to see a child eating so healthy and the staff encouraging it. Plus the food MUST have been good, that little child weighed no more than 40lbs and ate his burger like an adult. Kids are picky so you KNOW that means it was good! Some may say the decor is dated, but I actually enjoyed it very much. Everyone is always spending loads of money to modernize, but I think playing up the decor to make it look older would not only be more cost effective I think it would be an excellent venue to dress up and go out to. I absolutely loved everything about this place and I plan to be back...
Read moreFirst let me say, the 6 oz Filet Mignon was done to perfection, very rare just the way I love it. The waitress was wonderful. I will take partial responsibility for my next words as I overlooked anything regarding the Size of the lobster. It was half of a very very small tail at 3" long x 1/2" wide for...$10! It was disappointing! The waitress did not tell me the size and price. I am from PA and when you go to a restaurant or bar they sell petite tails for $1-$2! A petite tail is bigger than what I got. I won't return again.
Dear Owner. Thank you for clarifying the situation. The point I'm trying to make is that the waitress should have clarified the size and price. I'm used to PA where we get great seafood. I did have a chat with another person that was with our party and she stated she did not order the lobster because of the price, the waitress did tell her how much it was. Perhaps she presumed I heard the conversation and ordered anyway. It did not affect her tip from me she was a very good waitress. The steak was cooked to...
Read moreA good steak at reasonable prices. Keep up the great work!
My biggest issue really had to do with the littlest of things. The wait staff were pleasant and enthusiastic and the overall experience was fine. It was, as I said, I he small stuff. I had to retrieve the salt and pepper from another table because there was none at mine. The server could not tell me if the soup of the day was New England Clam Chowder or Manhattan Clam Chowder. I ordered mushroom buttons and received sliced mushrooms. There was no bread served with the salad. Instead, it was served with the steak. And the roll was not a light and fluffy dinner roll either, it was entirely too dense, almost like sourdough and not very good. Since there was no offer of dessert, I assumed none was being served.
As you can see, it was the culmination of little things that made me decide on the score I put. I hope I can return and be able...
