It being my birthday, my wife treated me to the full on tea luncheon at The Lovely Find. It was fabulous! Greeted at the door by Vickie, the proprietor, we were quickly seated at a beautiful table by the window looking out over Historic Granville. Within minutes we were asked for our tea and soup choices.
The place settings were adorned with Royal Doulton china and beautiful silverware. Curated gift offerings surrounded us, such as a Limoges bunny rabbit and beautiful hanging art appropriate to a Tea Room.
I had the Cream BrƻlƩe Tea with cream which was as good as any tea I have ever had in England. It was served in beautiful ceramic tea pots with cozies to keep the tea warm in Royal Daulton tea cups.
The first course knocked me over - homemade scones with an orange cream sauce. The experience could have ended there and I would have left satisfied. So delicious!
The homemade chicken soup course was tasty - seasoned just right with tender chicken bits and lots of vegetables.
The main course was a china plated tower that had (from the bottom of three tiers up) wonderful chicken salad sandwiches on fresh croissant and classic cucumber sandwiches on soft eggy bread with the crust cut off. Then a fruit salad featuring grapes and a sweet cream sauce followed by ābirthday cakeā - a home made mini cakes with chocolate sauce and authentic French macarons.
I did not pay the bill (my wife treated me) but the prices seemed unreasonably reasonable.
Thank you to Vickie and Karen for such a unique and pleasant and...

Your experience begins when you walk in the door, there we were greeted warmly by the hostess who brought us to a beautifully dressed table with comfortable chairs & the loveliest China Iāve yet to see at a tea experience.
We started with scone course, I often skip or pick at this one even at the best tea houses because I donāt like scones. Well my mind is changed on that, thanks to the fluffiest freshest lavender blueberry scone as well as the seasonal one my friend had (sorry Iāve forgotten the name). Every single course was absolutely made with love, and fresher than any tea experience. Most tea houses are nice, but much of the food can be obviously prepackaged and popped on a plate. That is NOT the case here. The lovely lady who runs the tea room (who I assume is the proprietor, and Iām so sorry Iām bad with names) confirmed that they make everything in house. I highly recommend the potato soup, which she mentioned was her grandmotherās recipe.
I can tell the owner absolutely cherishes her business and her guest. You feel like a welcomed friend the whole time youāre in their care. The hospitality, the food, the immense care to detail, itās truly unmatched. I visit tea rooms at least 3-4x a year, usually in Nashville & Knoxville and unfortunately I donāt think I can return to any of those places after being so spoiled here!!!
Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just love this place! I made reservations for the girls in my family to go unfortunately it ended up just being 2 from 5. Not a big deal to them. They were so gracious when I called to apologize and asked if it was okay for just 2. No problem. I had the whole tea experience and so glad I did. I had the most amazing tea blend! Then the scones!!! WOW! Amazing! The potato soup was also delicious! I could have ate a pot of it! If able to fit it! š. Then they bring the tier out with 2 types of sandwiches, fruit and desserts. The chicken salad croissant also wow! My 7 year old granddaughter had the sweetest tea pot. The Disneys white cat. Adorable! She loved the experience so much we started having them at my house with my momās china and she said āNana, we still have to go back to the tea room!ā I totally agree! This is a great place even for a couple. Their food and service canāt compare to anywhere else! What a...
