I Bellatrix is an absolutely great place and I highly recommend it. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The menu choices are varied and way above average. The food itself is perfectly prepared and is delicious. Tonight, instead of ordering from the standard menu, I selected from the food and wine prix fixe menu that had 2 price points. It included appetizer, entre, dessert, and a glass of wine. There was a wide selection to choose from. I had a Caesar salad, blackened salmon, cheesecake, and Chardonnay - a wonderful choice. My partner had potstickers, scallops, and their birthday cookie with ice cream. Friends had a shrimp cocktail with the largest shrimp I've ever seen. Other friends had the seabass and chicken fettuccine. The last friend had food allergies and they specially prepared a juicy burger and fries. I would go back in a heartbeat. It's not packed off season but reservations are highly recommended when the snow birds return. They have a prime rib night I really want to try. The bar is top notch. Their cocktails are great as well as the wine selection. Don't forget about their world class 18 hole golf course. They have excellent golf instructors. Plus they have banquet rooms for big events and a huge parking lot. I think it would be a real shame to come to the Coachella Valley and not try out this place. It's just that good! This is a well known place for us full time residents and part timers.. Casual attire for the hot weather is great. Because of the golf course, comfortable golfing attire is common. Lots of good hotels are close by for out of...
Read moreWe were visiting from Canada and had returned after a visit in November 2017. We decided to eat lunch on the patio prior to our game and were Impressed with the lunch . We loved our golf game as we did in November. We decided to have a meal at the course since it has a great view of the course and that we had nice food at lunch. We were discussing with the hostesses about reserving a table when an apparent supervisor stepped in and reversed what the hostesses suggested and basicallky eliminated the the chance to eat despite well over a dozen open tables in view. Then as we decided just to have a drink before leaving we got to the entrance to lol at our options. Within seconds. The same supervisor scolded us for standing in a spot he wanted clear space. Not sure how we would have known and no where else to stand. Just then a group in the bar left there table and we asked one of the staff if we could sit there. They said yes and as we approached the same supervisor raised his voice again and told us we couldn't sit there. This was the end of the line for us as this was the third time he had used poor tone and seemed to have something against us. We left quite upset . He then approached our wives and apologized and offered a parting gift since we had been given four 15 dollar credits to be used in the restaurant that were now useless. It was a nice gesture and we appreciated the offer and loved the golf. Would suggest to everyone that you reserve your seating prior to tee off if you intend on a...
Read moreHad dinner at Bellatrix for the first time last Saturday. I was impressed with almost everything. The atmosphere was perfect with a great view of the golf course. It felt upscale without the stuffy pretentious vibe that often comes with upscale eateries. A very comfortable place to have a nice dinner. The service was excellent. We had an Ahi Tuna Tower as an appetizer. I think it's meant to be more of a salad than a starter. The raw tuna was a bit under done. Relax, that was a joke. It was actually cooked perfectly. My Cesar salad was served with anchovies. Just like it should always be. It's what makes it a Cesar salad. I honestly don't remember what she order for her main course. I do remember that she loved. I had the prime rib medium rare. I have to say this is the only part of our experience that fell short. The sides were very good. However, the prime rib was not tender and juicy which is the most of the reason to have it in the first place. I mean, it's a prime cut of rib beef cooked medium rare. I was chewy. Who ever is making the decisions on their beef purchases needs either a slightly larger budget or perhaps to find something they're good at. Anyway, the place is great. I'll definitely be back soon. I'm not going to order the prime rib and you shouldn't either. Oh yeah, it was the Chilean sea bass....
