Boy, did we time this right by beating the huge evening dinner rush! We decided to get an early dinner, and had been hearing about this place from all over, so we stopped in to check it out. Tiny little joint, but you start smelling the love as soon as you get out of your ride. Typically you order at the counter and your food is brought to the table, but since we were a large group and it was early, Ashley bade us sit and she would come around and take our order. And order we did!
Burgers with green chiles and cheese, dressed with all the fixin's. And, wonder of wonders, you can order it cooked like you like! Pretty uncommon nowadays. I can't really tell you what everyone else thought, as there wasn't a lot of conversation once the food arrived. Based on the moans of pleasure, I think they liked it.
I got the double patty green chile burger with cheddar cheese and cooked medium rare. My order was late to the table because the grill maestro wasn't satisfied it was cooked to my liking, so he made it over. How's that for perfection??!? I do not mind waiting for the right burger, let me tell you, and this one was right in every sense of the word. Terrific tasting ground meat(sourced locally and ground in-house), cooked just right, fresh toppings, lots of gooey cheese, and the patties were super juicy. How juicy? I took some of it home on my pants and the burger was so good I probably won't try to get the stain out...I want a reminder of the yum.
Onion rings were thick and delicious and the fries were crispy and tender at the same time. A really great meal. I'm not normally a flat grill burger kinda dude, but these folks are working magic up in here.
A big shout out to Ashley on the terrific service, too. Everything came out exactly as ordered and we definitely made it as complicated as possible.
Final thoughts? The little dudes shared a burger and both of them wanted more...and that NEVER happens. If you're in town, get out to this little gem of a burger joint,...
Read moreI had been coming here for a few years now. I have RAVED about this place to many many people. Well, maybe I just went on an “off” day? First, I tried calling to place an order since I was coming in from Albuquerque, the first and second time I called, the phone rang for about a minute then I got the operator. I tried again several times and it appeared the phone was taken off the hook (almost as if they didn’t want to take calls). I showed up, there wasn’t hardly anyone there, I let them know about the phone issue and the older gentleman just chuckled. They took my order & my wait was 20 minutes. I went to the drive through to pickup my food. I was a little shocked to find that my order was almost $100 for 5 burgers with 3 meals, 1 extra fries and 1 extra tater tot. Oh well, I paid it. Before leaving the parking lot, I checked my food bags. A French fry was missing so I went back to the drive through window. I let them know and asked for my receipt because I was already thinking this was too much. I got both and left back home. Upon arriving home, I noticed they threw the onion rings in a paper bag. That paperback seeped grease all over my front seat, it was not a sight to see and boy should I have taken a picture of this. Gross!! Anyways, I had the relleno burger, it had no taste. It wasn’t seasoned at all and I was super disappointed in this. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their burgers. I was a little frustrated after the meal and so I looked at the receipt and goodness, I was absolutely overcharged! Again, I tried calling, phones still off the hook. Called the next day, it rang a few times and boom, phone was off the hook too. I finally gave up calling and I’m not gonna drive out there just to complain. I may give them another chance down the road but I sure am disappointed at the service they have provided. -BEWARE: Make sure you check your receipt and food bag...
Read moreFor starters the food is good but a little pricey for what you get. I will occasionally go back. 3 to 4 stars for food taste and staff.
I admit I am a nerd when it comes to numbers, especially when it comes to money, and I know what my bill will be before I order. I have been to Burger Boy 4 times in the last year or so. 3 out of the 4 times I was over charged by the big man with the goatee. The first time was by about $2.50 and it was so crammed and busy in there that I didn't really care to say anything. The second time I was over charged by about $1 and I was thinking maybe its just a coincidence and another mistake was made. The third visit was spot on, the numbers added up perfectly and the big man wasn't the one who cashed me out. Today, the fourth visit, the big man cashed me out again and I was over charged by $2.13. Coincidence? I think not! This time I spoke up and my price was reduced to the proper amount.
Lets assume they are open 56 hours a week, 50 weeks a year and average 20 tickets an hour. Lets also assume the big man with the goatee cashes out 75% of all these customers and averages $1.50 from each of them.
That would total $63,000.00 a year just from ripping people off $1.50 at a time!!! If I find out he is the owner of Burger Boy I will not be going back. If he is just an employee he should be fired and I will just pay close attention to the prices and enjoy a decent burger away from the city.
I really don't like leaving negative reviews but I feel we all should when it comes to...
