Let me start by saying, stumbling upon the "Tiki Bar Behind Low Key Hideaway" was like a serendipitous breeze on my journey. Originally aiming for Pirates Cove, Miss Lisa's warm recommendation led me here. And what a delightful surprise it turned out to be!
Firstly, a shoutout to the star of my visit, Laela. Her Bloody Mary is a must-try, setting the tone for an evening of relaxation and laughter. With each sip of her expertly crafted "Pain Killer," courtesy of her confident mixology skills, I found myself immersed in the laid-back vibe of Cedar Key. The on-site food wagon, as suggested by Laela, served up mouthwatering pulled pork, elevating the experience even further.
Extending my stay was an easy decision, thanks to the welcoming atmosphere fostered by owner Mr. Scott and his exceptional staff. While I may not recall every name, Mitra's vibrant spirit and engaging conversations stood out amidst the lively ambiance. The renowned Bloody Marys and Rum Runners are truly worth the visit, but it's the personal touch, exemplified by Mr. Scott's arrangement of "Lenny's Tiki Taste Tour" food truck, that sets this place apart.
As the sun sets over this hidden gem, the tranquility envelops you, offering a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In fact, the ambiance is so captivating that one can't help but imagine Hemingway himself opting for this tranquil haven over the more famed Key West. With reasonably priced cabins and ample RV sites, this oasis ensures a peaceful escape for all.
In essence, the "Tiki Bar Behind Low Key Hideaway" isn't just a bar – it's an experience. From the soulful concoctions to the picturesque setting, every aspect resonates with the essence of Cedar Key's charm. So, if you're seeking solace off the beaten path, look no further. This is where unforgettable...
Read moreOh, I so hate leaving a negative review and have struggled with this, but here it goes. Based on reviews, we stopped by the Tiki Hut while having a short vaca from our home in Largo, Fl. I am from Florida, my husband Michigan, and when we found out that the new owners were from Michigan, we wanted to support this. What a cool, colorful, and interesting place. And the view is quite unique and spectacular. Reminds me so much of the Florida I grew up in. Anyhoo, went in to order a drink. I was looking forward to a Marguerite and sitting on the dock and enjoy the view. We were on Holiday after all. It was a little busy, but the bartendress gave us a big smile and said she’d be with us shortly. No worries. We’re in slo mode anyway. When she got to me I ordered my Marguerite on the rocks with salt. Not expecting anything else, I was ready to walk outside and she said a double. Before I could answer she said, OK a double it is. And started preparing my drink. I was more than shocked, but not as much as when our bill came to $18.00 for one drink. WowZA! My husband and I travel a lot and I have never, ever, spent $20.00 including tip on a drink. I truly feel I was taken advantage of and based on this will definitely NOT be recommending anyone stop by this place. I am still reeling from this. A first for me and we’ve been traveling around the world...
Read moreI surprised my girlfriend with a one night stay (10.23.10) at the Low Key Hideaway and from the moment we checked in our blood pressure dropped exponentially. Cindy checked us in and was not only pleasant and helpful, she gave us some incredible recommendations for food and wine venues in downtown Cedar Key. Both Cindy and Pat are great people and what struck me the most is their genuine enthusiasm about owning this little gem called Low-Key Hideaway. Our room was clean, well decorated, and practical, although we spend so much time out on the dock and the tiki bar that we were hardly in it. I swear i think the idea for the Corona commercial (where the people are sitting side by side with a bucket of coronas in ice looking out at the water) was hatched at Low Key Hideaway. The Tiki Bar and dock and back courtyard beckon you to stare out at the water. There are super comfy hammocks and lounge chairs peppered throughout the property and you can find a spot to chill w/o much effort. The sunsets are magnificent and the Low Key Hideaway is close enough to Cedar Key to drive less than 4 minutes and far enough away that it is super quiet. I will be back for sure, Cedar Key is like Key West but w/o the throngs of tourists and the intrusion of commercial interests, everything is locally owned and operated. A little...
