Driving home enroute from Pines, Indiana to Central Illinois, taking the back roads to stop at Efroymson Prairie at the Kankakee Sands, we figured we'd stumble across a restaurant for breakfast along our way. We didn't find any until we found Frankie's Village Restaurant and it was well worth the wait! It has the feel of an old time diner (like my Dad and his family used to own), with a super friendly, attentive staff, great food, and it also is very clean (even the rest room!). I liked that there were friendly locals eating there as well. It just gave me a happy feeling being there! They were even so caring that the cook voluntarily gave my husband 2 extra eggs, just because the yolks broke on the first two (which were all just as tasty). That just tells me the kind of decent people they are and it's a rare find in today's world. We would definitely eat there again along our travels. It's our...
Read moreAs a local, I've been in frequently. Today just got me. Walked in sat down, watched server see me, 5 minutes pass she still hasn't brought a menu, greeted me, nothing. Couple in the table in front of me get up and grab their own menus, more minutes pass, still no service! Another couple arrives, sits and within a minute they have menu's, there drink order and both the tables who arrived before them sit waiting. Couple in table in front of me leave. Few minutes after them I give up and leave. Waiting 15+ minutes isn't customer service. The old girl working the dining room needs to retire. She has lost her ability to multi-task and preform customer service. I do have to say other servers I have had in the past, great. Yet this one server is way way past her time. Do you all list 3 covers. My business is now at a different...
Read more5:30 am. Went there with a tractor trailer. With the parking lot being used for MBI garbage haulers parking durning the night I lined up Infront an open space blocked by a construction barrel. I was about to shut the truck off I was approached by one of the drivers of MBI And he tells me I can't park where I am at. Move over by the trees and park there. I said I was going into eat and the only thing behind me is an empty barrel. He said he is the owners son in law and he runs the lot. I said the spot is empty the truck is gone already, what is wrong with parking here. He kept pushing the issue I left. I live 5 miles from this restaurant. I will never spend a penny here. Call me an ass but I don't need a parking lot nazi giving me crap when I am trying to spend my money at his mother in law's restaurant. Don't need...
