Hefner's Frozen Custard & Jumbo Burgers — Restaurant in Cedarburg

The burgers were wonderful, but in two visits the cheese was left off of the cheeseburger, condiments were not on one burger and we did not receive the pint of ice cream we ordered.

I am convinced that these mistakes would not have occurred if...and this is a huge 'if')...the staff reduced their foolishness by even a couple of percent. Seriously.

With all the shenanigans I observed, it is inevitable that a customer really has to believe that the food is not being handled and cooked in a healthy-safely manner.

I understand that: Employees can have fun and still properly and safely prepare food. When we eat out, there are most likely, and probably, things going on in the kitchen that would spoil the dining out experience. When a food item is served with missing components, or not delivered at all, a simple "I'm sorry" and the problem rectified is appreciated.

I was as sweet as pie when requesting the condiments and ice cream, although the employee to whom I made the request was a bit surly. Not a lot, but surly none the less.

The burgers were great enough and I will absolutely return. I will. However, I will probably hold some hope, in my sweet as pie heart, that things will be more customer friendly.

I truly believe that this shop should be receiving...

Okay, where do I start... Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent atmosphere. This restaurant is family friendly and a great place to bring children of all ages. Even has MAME games to keep the little ones busy... (Or the significant other if they are a lover of retro games) in fact, the lady and I played one of their pinball machines waiting for our food. And the staff are excellent with their recommendations.

When we got the food, the name says it all, jumbo burgers. They have some of the largest burgers around. We weren't able to finish our whole order. The portions here are fantastic and well worth the money spent. I literally can't say enough good about this restaurant.

The one con that I will note is, if you think you will get fries with the large burgers, think again. The fries are honestly as large as McDonald's large fries (if not larger than,) and cheaper than McDonald's large fries.

We spent about $30 between the two of us. This got us our sandwiches, cheese fries and a shake. This season they have a pumpkin pie shake (highly recommended) and a dollar of every pumpkin pie shake sale goes to the humane society. Very impressive you guys! Keep it up! We will...

My first visit to Hefner’s was extremely disappointing. As a first-time customer, I expected a welcoming environment, but unfortunately, the service I received was anything but. The staff came across as unwelcoming and dismissive, particularly toward me as a Black customer. I was not greeted upon entering, and when I attempted to engage with the young man and woman working, neither responded. I noticed that both employees interacted openly with white customers while I stood nearby deciding what to order. When I asked questions about the menu, I received minimal and unhelpful responses, which made it clear to me that my presence was not valued. It’s deeply concerning to feel so disregarded in a public business, and it gave the impression that Black customers are neither common nor particularly welcome here. Although I must admit the food was good, the overall experience left a lasting negative impression. I will not be returning or supporting this establishment...
