During my recent visit to Enchanted Grounds Coffee off S Colorado Blvd, my anticipation for a warm, inviting cafe experience was unfortunately met with disappointment, leading me to a two-star experience. The latte, which should have been the highlight, was alarmingly burnt, reaching a temperature near 170°, detracting significantly from the anticipated comfort a well-crafted latte usually provides. Despite the staff's effort to remedy the situation by remaking the latte to a more palatable 140°, when I expressed my gratitude, the response was dishearteningly disengaged, with the barista not even making eye contact, which further emphasized the overall lack of warmth and connection during my visit. This oversight in preparation mirrored a broader neglect I sensed throughout my visit, especially when my friend encountered an entirely avoidable inconvenience: the restroom was devoid of toilet paper. Such basic lapses in hospitality essentials starkly highlight a deeper issue of attentiveness and care for guests, which seemed to be missing. Moreover, the sight of employees disengaged and absorbed in their conversation, rather than attending to the ambiance and needs of the cafe, added to the sense of neglect. It felt as though the warmth and engagement one seeks in such spaces were overlooked, diminishing the overall experience. Even after we brought the absence of toilet paper to their attention, disappointingly, 40 minutes passed without any action taken, as the staff chose instead to sit back down and resume their conversation with each other, underscoring a disconcerting disregard for guest comfort and basic amenities.
However, it wasn’t all devoid of charm. The board game area within the cafe presented a delightful oasis of creativity and engagement, offering a communal space that radiates the potential for connection and joy. This niche, despite being priced at retail value, stood out as a testament to the cafe's potential to foster a vibrant, engaging community hub. It underscored what could be possible if the same attention to detail and care were applied across all facets of the establishment. My experience prompts a heartfelt suggestion to the management: to ignite a sense of passion and attentiveness in their employees towards guests. Ensuring basic amenities are in place, like regular bathroom checks, and fostering a culture of warmth and acknowledgment can transform a simple cafe visit into an enriching experience. It's about nurturing a space where every individual feels seen, valued, and enveloped in the genuine care that forms the cornerstone of memorable...
Read moreWe used to LOVE this place spending hundreds of dollars, and even paying a premium to a small business instead of big box stores, but we'll never step foot in this store again. I understand if your store wants to require vaccine passports, but to enforce it so hypocritically and to shame those who don't (for valid medical reasons) is, and should be, unacceptable. My wife went in without a mask, as the was no requirement by the store to have one. She bought well over $100 on gifts, food, and drink. They happily took her money, still with no mask. She sat down at a table, as others inside were doing, and began eating and drinking what she had just purchased. The manager then asked her to produce her vaccine passports, which she didn't have, and was then instructed to leave immediately. He even thanked my wife for not, "causing a scene" like others. She was never provided a receipt. When we discussed the events, she decided she did not want to support a hypocritical business, we took the merchandise back (obviously not the food and drink). The lady behind the counter needed to get authorization from the same manager fire the return and called him since there was no receipt. He remembered her precast aaannnddd incident well enough to instruct the lady (who, btw, was nice enough) that two of the products were considered collectibles and couldn't be returned even with a receipt, so not too take anything back, though he has in the past. This was spiteful, or and simple. As a matter of note, the "collectible"magic cards are accepted for return at Walmart and Target, despite the managers claim this is not allowed by order of Wizards of the Coast. Again, if you are afraid enough of COVID-19 to ask for passports, why wouldn't you 1) require masks while in the store, 2) say something prior to the purchase of the food. None of which is required by our city,...
Read moreI have been coming to this coffee shop for 2 years. I have always been able to bring my own food without getting reprimanded because I have allergies that are not very common and the coffee shop does not sell what I can eat. I opened a snack bar and the owner, Jeff, swooped in like he had been waiting for it. He told me and my friend that we could not have outside food in his coffee shop. I told him that I bring my own because he doesn't have anything to buy that I can have. He then gave me this ridiculously snarky look and asked me what allergies I have and asked what kind of snack bar I had. I told him and he said, well, I have bars at the counter that don't have any of those ingredients in them. He totally lied. I have looked at the bars at the counter and there are zero that I can have. I could not believe the attitude that he gave me and my friend. He acted like a 2 year old not getting his way. Then, about 5 minutes some teens showed up to shop for games (not even to sit down at a table, just to SPEND MONEY ON GAMES!!!!!) and they all had drinks from 7-11. Jeff immediately told to them to leave and lost the business and money of 4 people. I most likely won't come here again unless I need to since the shop is the only place around open late. I make it a point to buy a drink each time I come in (4-6 times a week) and have spent a lot of time and money here. Jackie and her husband are really sweet people and they know how to run a business the right way. They need to buy Jeff and his parents out of this business so that they don't keep losing customers. From the other reviews, it looks like Jeff is a major problem and he drives away customers all the time. By the way, there is no sign on the outside of the business that says no outside...
