Central City Steak & Seafood — Restaurant in Central

Edit 2021: 3rd time, stuffed potato the potato was not fully cooked already waited 27 min. Did fried catfish instead, catfish is breaded BLAND. The cheese curds were good, the tea was good. That's about it. Will never return. Waffle House or Carltons. Service was good, food horrible.

We have been in Central for just over a year. We tried this place in early 2019. Our server was new and that night was supposed to be her 1st night solo. After they argued and fought, we got a new waitress who was the "trainer" She was sweet, but they got slammed and it went downhill from there service wise. The appetizer was good, my wife got steak and I got catfish. We ordered blood rare, it came back medium. Not a deal breaker, but the service was, so we never went back. Today on 2/24/2020, it was raining and I got gas at the circle K next door. We did not feel like cooking, so we decided to give it another shot. The cheese curds fried were great. We ordered the white boot which is fried fish, shrimp, oysters, stuffed shrimp and crawfish. We got Mac n cuz and a loaded potato. Jeff was the waiter and did a fine job, the only reason this has any stars. The fish was okay, seasoning is bland but passable. The issue came with the fried oysters. Of the six, only the very tiny one was cooked. The oysters flopped like a limp...noodle. not even close to cooked, I ate only one. My wife ate the fish, shrimp and crawfish and the Mac. The stuffed crab was good, then came the final straw. The loaded potato was not fully cooked, like 60% AT BEST. I ate the toppings, but that's about it. Jeff tried to get the bill adjusted but instead, management offered the CHEAPEST thing..bread pudding instead.

I just LOST MY APPETITE on undercooked oysters AND you BOTCHED A BAKED POTATO!!! Bread pudding is supposed to make up for that?!!! Heck no. NEVER NOT EVER GOING BACK THERE!!! Never go there. No quality and...

After eating here 3 times this will be my last. The steak was always editable, over cooked but editable. The drinks were always great until today. Today, drinks sent back 3 times no one could get it right. Not even when I asked what her specialty drink was. That was still a disaster. So I played it safe with vodka and cranberry because who can mess that up? For our main entrée, I ordered a spud and my friend ordered the chicken pasta. We also had Dr Pepper and steak bites. The steak bites and Dr Pepper were good so gold star for that!

The pasta…. Chicken was frozen and to top it off there was black hair in it. That was it. At that point we couldn’t look passed the poor quality.

When charged $40 I then asked to talk to the manager. She was so rude I don’t know how she is employed. There was no care about quality but rather asking if we’d like another plate instead of bumping the bill down because I for one was not going to eat my spud while my friend sat there with frozen chicken hair pasta. We tipped the young waitress, paid and left. (Not to mention the spud wasn’t fully dressed) Adding insult to injury Mrs Manager had the audacity to say we were not going to eat for free. First of all, I would’ve loved to have eaten more than just the shared appetizer. Second of all, no one was trying to get anything for free!

Save your time and just go the extra mile Great places down town! Or make a trip to the frozen food section at Walmart. Same quality and without a manger who is rude & extremely inconsiderate.

Train your staff and for God sake get...

I'm putting this on the website not for management but for anyone that has any questions about this restaurant.Central city was a go to place for me after work this evening I made it there at 7:30 with scrubs on with my son,daughter and grandson.. there was a sign that said be seated we sat down and was completely ignored. Almost 15 minutes later I asked the lady at the bar to send someone to help us the young lady that came was a tiny girl with glasses we ordered our drinks with no refills because it just didn't happen, I asked for the trawler without the stuffed shrimp which I do have I had to ask for crackers which were slapped down on the table. Everything was cold. I want the public to read this because I put my life on the line at work I dont expect special treatment but what I do expect is to be treated fairly with a little dignity and respect. I spend on average abt 120.00 everytime I dine there tonight was 103.00 and this is how I was treated. Central city is cancelled and I will be happy to spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Noone deserves to be treated this way I even had to bring our dirty dishes to the back because she walked off from them. Now that I have talked about my experience I hope that the public will read this and steer clear...
