I took my two adult children and my two grandchildren there to eat last night, after a day at Penns Caverns, and was delightfully impressed. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere with one waitress who was the most welcoming waitress I have ever met. It was like going home to eat. The menu selection had something for everyone’s taste and was reasonably priced. The best part was yet to come, I’m talking about the food! Great portions that were very fresh and the best food I have ever eaten in a restaurant!!! I had the burger which I must say was the best burger I’ve ever had! The meat was so delicious that next time I go anywhere near the place again, I will definitely stop for another. The stone baked pizza my son and daughter-in-law had looked, smelled, and tasted like nothing I’ve had the pleasure of tasting before. My daughter had the Train-wreck special that was to die for. The grandkids had a hotdog and chicken strips that must have been delicious because it was the first time I have ever seen them eat all of their food and they each had a lot to eat. The shoe string fresh cut fries were plentiful on everyone’s plates and the drinks kept flowing. The price for all of us to enjoy a meal that was delicious and filling, which left everyone something to take with them came to around $70 that I was more than happy about. If I went to a fast food place it would have been more money with less than adequate food and service. If you are hungry and are anywhere in the area my family and I would definitely recommend you try this place! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!! Oh, and thanks for the Tylenol, it made the...
Read moreIn all my yrs living minutes away I had never stopped or even thought to in passing, until recently it was another late harvest evening, tired, dirty, and hungry..definitely not cooking we decided to Google their menu and was 1) surprised on how many things they offer and 2) the variety and range of different items. Called in an ordered and found out they are currently working on a limited menu but there were still plenty of choices. I got 2 chicken on a stick meals with fries and coleslaw, and a doz wings. Man have I missed out, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, clean, spacious and has very interesting decor. Like a cool old pot belly stove, wagon wheels, and signs. I only made it to the register but noticed in the back they also had a wine shop. I was greeted immediately and helped. The server was knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. Once home I was very pleased with everything. The chicken on a stick was amazing, the fries were perfectly cooked, the coleslaw was good and the wings were excellent. I'll definitely be...
Read moreWe made reservations to this place specifically for their special of the day: Prime Rib. Ordering mine medium rare with a side of garlic mashed potatoes, it arrived slightly more rare than medium and I was fine with that. Apparently they smoke their Prime Rib, but it was very tender and delicious.
Knowing that Centre Hall had been a dry town for decades, we bought our own bottle of wine, but we discovered there was a winery attached to the restaurant. Regardless, we were more than welcome to enjoy our own bottle with dinner.
The place is cozy, casual and spacious. Even though the temperature outside was in the teens, the atmosphere was comfortable. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Sandy and I both enjoyed a fully satisfying Prime Rib dinner with two sides (my second was potato salad) for under $50. We finished with happy palates.
We are considering revisiting this place for a different entree as we looked over the menu. If what we had this evening is any indication, I don't foresee any disappointment...
