Absolutely Blown Away by The Fishin' Hole in Centre! My husband and I were looking for a great place to eat in Centre and stumbled upon The Fishin' Hole – and what a find it was! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff, especially the owner and Ciji, who made us feel right at home. The food truly exceeded all expectations. The jumbo fried shrimp were nothing short of perfection – perfectly cooked and undoubtedly the best I've ever had. We also thoroughly enjoyed the fried catfish, which came in big, flaky fillets and was incredibly moist and delicious. A huge bonus was their salad bar. It's so rare to find a really good one these days, and The Fishin' Hole's was fantastic, offering a great variety. Even though we were completely full, we couldn't resist trying the browning ice cream dessert, and it was the perfect sweet treat to end our meal. Everything, from the quality of the food to the generous portions and the excellent service, made it clear that the price was absolutely worth it. We left feeling incredibly satisfied and are already making plans to bring the rest of our family back for another amazing meal. I have had only takeout from this place until last night. The takeout I had was less than mediocre! We decided to try dine-in last night. The batter on the fried food overwhelms the taste of the food. The table was sticky and not clean. And the prices are beyond ridiculous for the type of restaurant it is. The waitress came back to our table twice to tell us they were out of food we had ordered. We got there at 5:00 pm, so that is pretty early for dinner. Poor planning on the part of the kitchen manager. I have read lots of reviews of this place and the owner replies to bad reviews with “why didn’t you speak up while here?” Isn’t that what the reviews are for? Instead of throwing the ball back into the customers court and being offended when someone posts a low score, why not take these reviews seriously and try to correct what your customers are complaining about? Many folks don’t like face to face confrontations and will better tell you the truth on a review. I won’t be back to eat there because today I feel like I will never eat fried food again anywhere because I feel sick from eating there. If this offends the owner, so be it! Well the service was greatly and friendly. We all ordered at the same time. Everyone in the party got their food except two people (which was ones birthday thats why we went out). We waited additional 20/25 minutes before we got the last 2 plates. Everyone in our party had already eaten by the time we got our food. One item was left off still never got it and the fried fish was not completely done. We told the waitress they was gong to bring us another order of fish she said 9/10 mins. Another 20 mins went by they brought our fish by them everyone was ready to go. We task the waitress to take the 2 plates off of our ticket, the owner/ manager (man) came out and argued with us telling us the fish was done, cause it was at the right temp. I really don't like my fried fish to be rubbery. The guy had a really bad attitude. I've worked in fast food, we all make mistakes, but I've never stood there and argued with a customer about their food. Needless to say we won't be going back.
