The Ridge — Restaurant in Chadron

This is a nice bar right on Main Street with a nice atmosphere and plenty of space to spread out. Although some of the dishes we had were very good, my main dish could have been a lot better. I ordered a 12oz. Ribeye medium well, and when it arrived, it looked medium rare. I sent it back to be cooked a little more, and upon return, I could tell it never left the plate. I wasn't going to send it back again...I have a phobia about that, so I powered through as much as I could. I decided to bring the rest home to cook it myself. There is a before and after pic of the steak... you decide if that's medium well. The salad wasn't too good either. It's finely shredded iceberg lettuce with just cheese, cucumber, and tomatoes. The finely shredded lettuce gave it a soggy texture that just wasn't palatable. On a more positive note, the chips and salsa, as well as the fried pickles were really good. The staff seemed really nice, and I don't blame the server for the food. I think the back of the house just needs a bit more supervision and...

Went there this afternoon because we really have enjoyed this place before. First, the floor was nasty sticky. There was a puddle of soda by the pool tables on the way to the bathrooms....speaking of which, the women's restroom was filthy! One stall was out of order and the other was missing a door lock. No paper towels yet the trashcan was over flowing with them, and 2 empty rolls were on the counter. When I went to find a waitress to let her know, I just stood there until she was finished with what she was doing, then she snapped at me telling me "I will be with you in a MINUTE!!" I told her the bathroom was out of paper towels and I was SO sorry to bother her. Everytime we ordered or asked for something (which they were out of the zucchini appetizer and the chicken fried steak), she huffed about and rolled her eyes. The food was very good, however. I have been here several times over the years, and enjoyed their food. But after today, I won't be returning. We traveled 2 hours to meet my son for lunch today. Unbeknownst to us, there were parties. No signs of private parties, and nobody told us that we couldn't be there for any reason. We were just trying to be customers. The bartender I'm guessing came to take our drink order maybe 10 minutes in? And then brought them over a few minutes later......and that was it! We visited for a little bit and figured out what we wanted to order. Why give a table menus if you have no intention of coming back? After 45 minutes had passed, we put some money on the table and left. We ended up going to molcajetes down the street. They were more than happy to have our business, their restaurant was CLEAN, their staff was attentive, and the food was amazing. Bottom line, skip the dirty, nasty old bar and head over to the place with...
