We stopped by the Tea Cup Cafe and Bakery on our way back from a nearby hot spring, looking for a meal before we embarked on the three hour drive back to South-east Idaho. We were lured in by the pizza buffet, and once we saw that the price was reasonable, the variety ample, and the atmosphere warm and cheery, we settled in.
Three of our party went with the pizza buffet, while the other ordered the veggie stir fry. The staff were very polite, friendly, and welcoming, and we were quickly seated then off for the first plate.
The buffet consisted of two salads and several dressings, cheesy bread, and seven varieties of pizza. There was one vegetarian pesto, Hawaiian, pepperoni, bbq chicken, chicken/bacon, bacon jalapeno, and sausage. Two of us did not eat meat, so we mostly stuck with the pesto, but we were also able to pick the meat from most of the other options and feed it to the carnivore.
The pizza was fresh, hot, and delicious. The flavor in the sauces was bold and rich, and the ingredients seemed of high quality of were equally distributed. The crust was particularly crispy and flavorful as well, as to be expected from a genuine wood-fire oven. I greatly enjoyed each slice, and ate my fill.
Staff were very easy to talk to and seemed very enthusiastic about their job and the pizza. We struck up a conversation with a few of the servers and found them to be genuinely enjoyable people.
Overall, our experience was very positive, and we would come here again if we were ever in the area. Highly...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped here to have dinner. One of the ladies asked where we were from and we said Ohio. She said she was from Ohio, too. I asked where she was from and she said Urbana. I asked her name and she said her name was Kay. I asked the other lady what her name was and she said, Keri. They were so nice. Kay asked if we would like her to take my husband and my picture. We did. I asked if we could take their picture and they said it would be fine. They were so nice. It was nice to meet a fellow Buckeye. We not only met two nice ladies but we also had a really nice meal. If you ever go to Challis, be sure to stop at The Tea Cup & Bakery and have something to eat and say 'hello' to Kay and Keri. I would like to come back someday and stop and see if these ladies are still there. Thanks ladies for helping us to have a...
Read moreThis place was INCREDIBLE!! I got the sugar mama mocha which was a white chocolate and hazelnut latté combined. Not too sweet, and the just right amount of espresso flavor. I also had the bacon, egg and cheese croissant. This was THE PERFECT breakfast sandwich. Everything fresh and hot. From the freshly baked buttery, flaky, soft croissant to the ooey gooey cheese, over easy egg and crispy bacon, this was by far the tastiest sandwich I've ever had. And to top it off, the service was great. The woman at the register was friendly and warm. I would go out of my way to come back, that's a promise!! Thank you Tea Cup Café & Bakery! Heading home to Vegas today, but we'll be...
