We used to absolutely love this pizza place, but after tonight, we won’t be returning. While our pizza was cooking around 8:45-9pm we witnessed a serious health violation: a staff member in the back picked up a dirty floor mat, smacked it on the floor, rolled it up & and tucked it away, then—without changing gloves—walked straight over to the oven and used the same gloves to turn our pizza.
Joseph politely brought to the lady at the register's attention, but after calling him a liar saying this didn’t happen, the staff continued to treat him as if he was the problem. This was all done in-front of multiple customers and our young child. They refused to provide the name of a manager or anyone in charge, simply repeating that “the owner is never here” and “management already left.”
I decided to wait a little and call in. As expected, our phone number showed up on their caller ID from the order—and they immediately hung up. I called back, and a girl answered. When I asked for a manager, she simply said, “We’re closed very rudely,” and hung up again. I continued to call and was repeatedly hung up on. I then began recording and called once more. This time, a man answered. I informed him that the conversation was being recorded and would be brought to management’s attention. At first, he pushed back and was hesitant to share the owner’s name or acknowledge the situation.
Only after I insisted that this behavior would be reported did he tell me I could speak with someone named “Kelly” and that the girl who had been disrespectful on the phone was supposedly named “Cassie.” We’ll see if those names are accurate.
We are incredibly disappointed—not only by the health and safety violation but by how multiple staff members acted as if it was acceptable behavior and then tried to cover it up. To be clear: touching a filthy floor mat and then handling someone’s food without changing gloves is not okay under any circumstances.
I would understand if they believed someone was attempting to get free food but they were asked to either remake the pizza and follow all proper food handling procedures or refund us so we could leave because we no longer wanted the food, and the lady did not want to remake it and would only refund the money for the contaminated pizza and not the other items that ended up in the trash—there was no way we could eat anything from that kitchen after what we saw.
This kind of behavior needs to be addressed immediately before you end up making someone very sick. If you are doing this in plan view I am truly a concerned about what is being done where people can’t see. We understand mistakes happen because no one is perfect & the man that did this didn’t say a word and was seen changing his gloves but not washing his hands after we said something about it but it’s the rest of the unprofessional staff made a big issue rather than using the situation as a learning experience. Everyone needs to take the serve safe class because clearly food handling skills are lacking at this establishment which is disheartening because we loved supporting this...

I drove to this spot from DC to meet my family traveling in from Pittsburgh. The place is quaint and cute, and reminds me a lot of something you’d find in my old college town in central VA. Overall, I have two opinions of the place. My first is as someone who’s lived in a small college town and is therefore familiar with the food scenes of small college towns (they’re usually quite similar). I’d give this place a solid 4/5 for the city that it’s in, which matches the reviews from most locals. It’s cheap, the portions are huge, and they have plenty of menu options.
However, I’m afraid that this place might not stack up to an out of towner (particularly if you’re from a larger city). From that perspective, this restaurant only gets a 2/5. While the food is cheap and the portions are enormous, I’d much rather have better quality food even if it meant getting less food for the same price. I also have to say that I was thoroughly disappointed by their salads, as was my grandmother. I ordered the Alessandra salad as my name is Alyssandra, and was excited to try it for this reason, but it really fell flat for me as it was very bland (especially the balsamic vinaigrette which was watery and really had no taste to it). My ravioli was also quite bland with watery sauce, and they didn’t have any Parmesan cheese out on the tables (nor did they offer it) which was just insane to me being that the place is an Italian restaurant. That said, the breadsticks were enjoyable and some of my other family members seemed to enjoy their dishes (particularly the pizza).
Above all, I will say that this place had great service. Our server was very nice and attentive. Our orders also came out quickly and were all correct. Overall, it’s a decent place if you’re just looking for something simple and quick to eat. The restaurant was quiet and...
Read moreWe had a lovely early dinner in this comfortable, cozy environment. Our waitress, Eva, was very attentive and kind. Our food came promptly and hot. The bread was a big hit for our whole table. It was hot, fresh, and soft. Our pasta dishes proportionately had more pasta than"toppings," which is what I would call the additions. There weren't many shrimp (5?)on the shrimp pasta and I barely had vegetables and maybe 3/4 of a chicken breast on my pasta with a limited amount of sauce. the sauce flavors could've been a little stronger, but I could taste the raw seasonings on top, which made up for the lack of flavor and gave a nice touch. If I wanted a huge bowl of pasta this would've been perfect, however it was lacking the vegetables and meat for a Cacciatore dish, especially for the price. My husband's pizza was great to him as he enjoyed the sauce, which on his opinion makes a great pizza! Sub was described as tasteful. All in all. We had a nice time, nothing was majorly wrong. I'll add chicken to my leftovers, and all will be well. The food and service were good. If I goback, it'll be for the bread and to try another dish! Perhaps a sub.
Update: I just finished my leftovers and my dish was much more...
