Went to the renaissance festival today with my sister and 2 of our friends and decided to stop by this buffet on our way home because the reviews were so good and the price seemed great. We called before coming in and they told us that the price would be $10.99 plus $3 for drinks. We didn't think to ask about price while we were eating in since we already called 20 minutes before arriving, and when we got our bill it was almost $90. It showed $18.88 per person plus price for drinks. That's almost double what we were told on the phone. When we saw our bill we brought it up to the front counter and asked why it wasn't the price we were told. She said they never have that price of $10.99. We explained that we called earlier and she just said "well that's not true, that couldn't have happened". I asked for the owner and she said that he'd be right out. After 10 minutes of waiting, he finally came to our table. He repeatedly said that he can't help us with our bill. After talking to him for 10 more minutes, he said that he could only give us 10% off our bill and that's it. We proceeded to say that we were only going to pay the price we were told. He called the cops on us and told them that we were being criminalistic. After waiting outside for the cops to arrive, 4 cop cars pulled up, one after another, cornering our car (and us) in. We tried to explain the situation but didn't get much help. This owner and restaurant is awful. Don't come here unless you want to have the worst restaurant experience of your life. Management is handled poorly and they will not help you. Not to mention, a bug landed on my sister's food and was flying around our table and they basically laughed at us for bringing it up. This place is a joke. We will never come here again. Wish I could leave 0 stars and not be...
Read moreIt seems like every time I go to this place I have a different experience. That's not exactly what you would expect from a restaurant. Especially one that serves bulk portions throughout the day. While consistency is key, inconsistency may have a lock on this restaurant's door that the key can't open.
Food: 6/10 (alot of disappointments, but they do a few things well.) The snow crab was great, but came out twice in 3 hrs. The fried shrimp was uncoated, greasy and barely seasoned. (On previous visits, this shrimp was coated in a beautiful crispy batter and the shrimp was moist and flavorful.) The blue crab was extremely oily and the batter was chewy and did not coat the crab well. The flavor was good though. The green beans were excellent. They did not replace the cold oysters in 3 hrs so i didnt get to try them. I usually go for the green lip mussels as well, but they were not on display. The sushi did not look appetizing so I didnt try it. The ribs were ok. The noodles were good. The hot and sour soup was great. I did not have the energy to try a grill plate.
Service: 4/10 (everyone has bad days) the lady came over to remove plates, spilled a drink on my table and walked away. On the 2nd round of plate grabbing, she swiped a piece out of her way from my plate with her bare hand.
Price: 8/10 fairly decent at approx $20/adult
Value: 6/10.
Conclusion: the first few times I came here I was impressed. It eas very clean, not too busy, food was hot and came out frequently. Sadly it seems that has changed during the pandemic. Not sure if this place will regain its spirit any time soon, but I hope it does and I'm not...
Read moreOkay boys and girls here’s a review for all you guys looking at this place for all you can eat crab legs.
TL:DR don’t come here for all you can eat crab legs.
Full review:
The place actually has good food, I tried the teriyaki short ribs those were delicious, also they had bbq ribs this were good as well. Boneless bbq ribs were a hit too.
Now let’s get to the crab situation, they employ a certain tactic here when it comes to the Crab legs, They leave the Hotplate empty all the time until someone literally asks them for some, I was in here for about an hour and it was empty for 58 minutes of that time, the only time they did have any is when I stood in front of the hotplate and asked them to refill it, and when they do refill it they bring out about 8-15 legs at a time, which wouldn’t be bad if it was just for you, but the thing about this tactic is no one else really knows, so the other customers just sit and wait around and when they refill it your left either looking like a Crab Hog, or you leave the station with 2 or 3 legs at best. Then it’s back to waiting.
The crab itself isn’t that good either, it has a small hint of ammonia smell to it, not a whole big scent but just a slight hint, they aren’t big crab legs by any means but they aren’t small.
Overall if your coming here for any other type of food your good.
Come here for crab you’ll leave feeling defeated.
