El Pueblito Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Chanute

My friends ranted and raved about this place. They are regulars here I guess. I was visiting from out of town. Right off the bat I thought our waiter was rude, cold and very short with us. I had never been there before and my friends told him that yet he seemed to be rushing me to make my food choice. They were not busy and there were only 3 cars in the parking lot. One of which was ours. When our food came it was nice and hot and what we ordered but nothing exceptional for a Mexican restaurant. Except I will give them credit for some of the best French fries I've had in a long time which my friends son ordered. Other then that I'm not impressed. My friend picked up the check and several days later we were going to grab lunch again and her son was begging to go back and I heard her mention how much it had cost for us to eat there. For 2 adults and a child, mind you we did NOT order anything special or extras. No fancy drinks. In fact us adults had waters and ordered the lesser meal specials and the bill was over $80. Nope, won't be going back there. That meal was not worth...

Really good food and great atmosphere. The food came out really fast and it was delicious! Best restaurant in the area! First off I am a huge Mexican food fan! I could eat fajitas and enchiladas all day, everyday. This is one of the best joints in the area for Mexican food. I think the fajitas are the best I have ever had. They come with steak, and chicken and it’s just a wonderful meal and the portions are huge! This is definitely worth the trip as the food and margaritas are excellent. Haven’t had a bad meal or drink yet! This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide drink list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here...

Terrible service. We went in 30 minutes before advertised closing. After the waiter brought our drinks he looked at his watch. He then proceeded to ask if we were waiting on the other 2 people in our party and we said yes. I couldn't understand every word he was saying but it was something about the kitchen closing soon. My husband asked if they were kicking us out. And the guy just smiled and said kitchen closing. He walked away. We looked at each other and just got up and walked out. I understand restaurants have a closing time for a reason but the waiter was extremely rude about it. He could have handled the situation better. I refuse to spend any of my money...
