Went in after a day of hunting. There was one customer in the whole restaurant. The waitress only addressed my husband. She told him the specials. Roast beef and stuffed pork chops. I was going to order the delmonico, but figured I'd go with the special assuming it was less expensive. We BOTH ordered the roast beef.
She did make a fresh pot of coffee. She served our coffee then dropped off our meals. I thought the meat looked very light in color for roast beef, but then realized she brought us both the stuffed pork chops. The waitress was no where to be seen.
The only other sole occupant even commented, "I thought you had ordered the roast beef."
We cut into the meal and it was tender and cooked well so we just started eating. The place doesn't look like we would fare well if we returned the meal if you know what I mean.
She did come by and the other table occupant mentioned it to the waitress and THEN she offered to switch the meals out but we declined. She never offered a coffee refill. Never asked if the pork chop was good.
When we got our check, it came to 38.12. For 2 "specials" and 1 coffees. The bill wasn't itemized. Which means our specials either had to cost more than the rib eye dinner or the coffees were 3.00 a piece.
Keep in mind, there were only 3 people in the dining room. I am usually a VERY generous tipper. This time, the bulk of the tip was written on the back of our receipt as suggestions on how to earn more by actually providing a service. I'm sure the waitress is a nice person, but perhaps may want to explore a different...
Read moreI stayed here two nights for the annual Hyner View Challenge. All I wanted was a clean bed and a shower, and for the price I paid ($75 a night) I was more than happy. There was wi-fi, a clean shower and comfortable bed, and even a mini-fridge. I did not turn on the TV so I don't know how that was. ||||I stayed at Yesterday's last year, and I'll never go there again. This is the best choice in town.||||I asked for a wake-up call and didn't get it. I think it's because the ringer on my phone didn't work. I'd emailed my sister my room number so she could call me because cell service is pretty bad there. She called my cell and said she'd just called the room. When I called the office to ask about it, their phone rang 30 times before I gave up. Other than that, the room was great. ||||It is very nice that it's a separate building from the bar and restaurant. Noise didn't bother me. I called every 2 weeks for a couple of months to reserve the room, and they always said the woman in charge would call me back.
