Double Dip — Restaurant in Chariton

Ok so the food is awesome, been coming here for a long time but after today I just had to post this, and if I could post a review with NO stars, I would. Through the years their prices have been going up and that's understandable, it's home made food and made very well BUT, not only have the prices been steadily rising, the SERVING of food has been diminishing ridiculously. Today I spent 2 dollars their on just two wraps and a box of literally a handful of fries if that even. I st you not people. I wanted after I had gotten home, my wife took the food out of the bag and was shocked by how much smaller the wraps have gotten. She them opened up the box of fries and the box was practically empty. We paid 20 dollars for a f*g kids meal. THAT is total horse st. So not only are they overpricing their food but completely skimping out on serving sizes. It breaks my heart to see that, this place used to be amazing. But I am done coming to this place and getting utterly ripped off. Just do us all a favor and go out of business already. Sincerely, your ripped off...

We found this place on Google maps as we were driving across Iowa. Our young adult and teenage kids were hungry but my husband and I just wanted a pick-me-up. Our order was two cheeseburgers, three shakes, and two scoops. Everything was quickly ready and was delicious! The hot fudge milk shake I got was one of the tastiest I've ever had. And something about the way he made it meant it had less air in it than a lot of shakes I've had. Therefore, it didn't give me the post-shake-bloat. Our whole meal was cheap compared to most of our other road trip meals. I only gave 3 stars on "atmosphere" but "atmosphere" is not why we chose it. it was clean, but in desperate need of updating. I will add that the restroom was not great. If you're road tripping and need facilities, try the washrooms at the Casey's or hold it until a truck stop, but definitely stop here...

The food would have been better if they had paid more attention.... I ordered a walking taco - no tomato no onion no salsa add sour cream. I got - in o tomato and onion that was correct but it had a lot of salsa on it and the little plastic container they said was sour cream was actually ranch dressing. It was fairly dark and I was eating in the car so I didn't realized it wasn't sour cream until I had dumped the entire thing in and took a bite. I know I'm a picky eater but I like what I like and my dinner was ruined. It's kind of an epidemic, people in the food service industry all over have forgotten how important it is to listen to the customer. It's kind of a silent you'll get what I give you. It's bad business. Smaller tip, if any tip, for wait staff and it could cost you...
