As a person who is “iffy” about “gamey” foods I have to say, the green lamb gyro is amazing!! I have had “authentic “ lamb gyros from different places, and nothing tops this! We love Greek food and I have ordered chicken gyros the last few times due to past experience. My fiancé wanted me to get Best of Crete for lunch for us to eat at his work, and told me he hopes I try the “real” gyro, and I did. I am sooo pleased I did! This is the first and only lamb gyro that I have had in the Charleston/Huntington area! I will never get the chicken from here! Also, pita bread was soft… hummus was fresh, fresh veggies on the salad, very consistent with what was on each order.. baklava was dripping with honey!! So fresh!! And tons of layer of flavor! Hands down one of the best kept secrets in Charleston. Nestled among the hills on the west side is the small, unassuming little neighborhood secret. You just can't get Greek food this good anywhere else in the state. The owner is almost always available for a handshake and a smile despite many times a line of customers right out the door. Was here on Wednesday (the 2nd)and ordered the Veggie Gyro Deluxe Platter w/Green Beans and the Orzo Salad.
My meal was outstanding!!!
The Veggie Gyro was flavor packed w/fresh Veggies and w/Hummus, Cucumber Sauce and Feta. SOOOOOOO AMAZING and big that I could only eat half!
The Green Beans and Orzo Salad was also flavorful and DELISH as well!!
