After hearing so much about this place we knew we had to squeeze this in our short and sweet trip to RI for a quick beach day.
We couldn’t honestly wait for coffee in the morning since we had a 2 hour drive ahead. Of course, we gave in and hit up our local Starbucks before taking off.
Right as we’re driving back and saw the sign for Dave’s and realized it was still open, we literally pulled a crazy you turn and skurrrrrt our way there.
I seriously wish we would’ve had more than a 5 minute quick stop because this was totally worth it. It’s one of those places where you don’t need much to immediately fall in love with it. There’s adorable seating outside where you can sip on your latte (or espresso), put your phone down and just take it all in.
The indoor space is the caaayuuutest! It makes me want to pick up my laptop and sip on a drip coffee and literally just hang out there for a couple of hours. Definitely nice space to wine down and relax.
Pups have to stay out so no dogs allowed inside. Make sure you’re dressed and have shoes on as well otherwise you’re stuck!
I ordered a cold brew with vanilla bourbon syrup. I’m not a huge fan of sweetened coffee but i do have to say that it was a nice touch. I would like to order regular coffee next time. Oh, side note: THERE’S CORTADITOS AND CUBANOS AVAILABLE! So if you know, you know.
Service was fast, there weren’t long lines like others have mentioned that it can get crazy in there. We did go towards the end of the day so that for sure helped out. The baked goods are made daily and maaaaaaaaaan did they look delish!!!!! Next time I definitely want to take this place more in. It for sure deserves a good hour of your time and not just a 5 minute hi-bye.
Loved the overall experience. Though brief you don’t need much to love Dave’s. Quaint, cute and cozy. Can’t wait to be back in the area and enjoy this again but this...

Whether you’re a local sailor or just drifting through the Ocean State, Dave’s Coffee is a harbor well worth anchoring at. Tucked along the coast with locations like Charlestown and Providence, Dave’s isn’t just a coffee stop—it’s a destination.
We made the voyage not just for the coffee, but for the bakery treasures that come out of that humble little kitchen—and let me tell you, it was well worth every mile.
Their cold brew is legendary, smooth as sea glass and strong enough to wake the saltiest of souls. The espresso drinks? Balanced and rich, with that perfectly roasted depth you hope for but rarely find. And if you’re in the mood for something sweet, the coffee syrup (a Rhode Island staple) is bottled up and ready to take home.
But let’s talk about that bakery case, shall we? It’s filled with house-made items that rival anything you'd find in a big city patisserie. From seasonal scones and muffins to chewy cookies and one of the best coffee cakes this side of the Atlantic—it’s not just good. It’s “worth the drive” good.
The vibe inside is cozy and coastal, like stepping into your favorite local café where everyone’s friendly and the pastries are always fresh. Staff is quick, helpful, and seems to genuinely enjoy being part of the experience.
If you haven’t made the trip yet, don’t wait for calm seas—just set course for Dave’s. A warm drink, fresh baked goods, and a seat by the...

For service, this place gets a solid 4 stars. Good atmosphere, which in sure is a hit with the many laptop+headphones college kids sitting at the various tables. Not to sound like a boomer but it's a very "hip" establishment. Dim lighting, weird ambient music that initially had me looking for a humming and malfunctioning refrigerator.
As for that 2-star rating...
Coffee syrup (used in coffee milk), for 12.59, gets you 15 servings. Now, it being a coffee production company, I imagined it would taste more like coffee when made I to coffee milk.
It doesn't smell like coffee, and it doesn't taste like coffee. It's got a weird aftertaste that might be the result of the natural tapioca thickener. But it's not coffee.
Conducting a blind taste test against Autocrat, Grey's, and Dave's, the coffee milk at equal coloration of mix scored second, above Autocrat by far, but definitely losing to Grey's, which you can smell the coffee in when you open the bottle.
Mass production, perhaps, has left Dave's, a coffee company, without the taste of coffee in their coffee syrup.
(And yes, once again, I know you don't drink it straight. Perhaps Dave's intended it to be used on only...
