Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Charlotte

Place isn’t what it used to be. Service is lacking BIG TIME. I started with Applebees at this place and now work as a Key/bartender/server at another location in California. Bartender tonight was great even though my perfect margarita took a while to get to me (probably 10 minutes). Moved to a table when my parents arrived and waitress was very nice however it took a long time to even get waters. She had taken the food order before even bringing drinks and then proceeded to walk away without taking my order. Only was it when she returned with the drinks that she took my order. Food was decent. Steak was over cooked and I suspect it was because it was held back waiting for the rest of the food to finish since it was rung in later. Salmon was crispy on the outside but otherwise it was good. Didn’t get silverware until after food arrived.There were only 8 tables in the entire restaurant but service was SLOW! There were several parties of individuals waiting in the front to be seated with no host in sight. No one in the entire restaurant staff wise seemed to care too much about being there and lacked enthusiasm besides the bartender. HORRIBLE experience on 10-19-21. Got seated at a table by the bar, not busy at all. Our server Brittney K took our drink order, then our food order when she brought the drinks. After that, she never came back to check on us. My friend had finished his beer and set the empty bottle on the edge of the table. She looked right at it, then walked out from behind the bar, I thought she was coming to check on us...nope. Then again 5 minutes later she was back behind the bar, she looked at our table again and I put a hand up to signal her, and again she walked out from behind the bar, and went someplace else. We asked another employee to please locate our server, he couldn't find her. By this time it's been 40 minutes since we got our drinks and over 20 minutes since the empty bottle was placed on the edge of the table, which she looked at twice. Evidently she spent 20 minutes in the bathroom. When she finally came back to our table, we requested the bill for the beer and my soda and left. We're about to spend $50-60 there and our server just ignores us? The Charlotte Applebee's has really declined in...

This is second time I wasn't happy with Applebees, was my favorite. Today food was luke warm, my ice tea wasn't mixed well with flavoring sent back. My brothers drink was tall lots of ice and couldn't taste the liquor well. His salmon was really little but had good flavor. When we were seated the table had not been wiped down and with us seated she couldn't reach the far end we had to take the rag and wipe it down. It took quite awhile to get the meal then it was like warm, very disappointed.

Tried again today 6-11-25, very unhappy again altho service was great, food was not. Friend had all you can eat shrimp, anemic looking not a golden brown and the ribs didn't taste right, didn't even taste like meat. He didn't finish. My Ceasar salad was bland croutons had no taste, moz sticks were good as was coffee. So disappointed, bill wasn't cheap either. Probably be a while before or if we try again.
