Second time visiting and so far consistent. It’s a sports bar setting with multiple TVs and channels. There was plenty of parking on a lunchtime Saturday. It wasn’t particularly busy and noise level was appropriate for the level of guests.
I ordered the Shaved Brussels Salad with grilled chicken, goat cheese and dried but plump cranberries: A nice hefty portion with moist chopped chicken and super fresh salad with citrus vinaigrette on the side - as requested - without onion or bacon. It was exactly what I wanted, and I barely left a cranberry on the plate!
My mom had the same side salad (without chicken) as her upgraded side with the Smother Me Naked bunless burger plate. It was cooked as she requested at medium well. Mom couldn’t stop talking about the cute, tall waiter and how nice he was. My husband concurred that he was very attentive.
Mom’s only complaint was the weak coffee brew, but she likes it extra mean and dirty (as in extra strong), like mud, so can’t blame the restaurant on her preference. What she really wants is espresso, and a sports bar is not the time or place!
Hubby enjoyed his Chipotle chicken club with bacon and cheese served with sweet potato waffle fries. No complaints. He’s a man of few words but enthusiastically said it was good.
Our meal prices were $15-$18 each and worth very penny.
Mom wanted dessert, but we were on a mission, so next time. We...
Read moreI've been here in Charlotte for over 25 years and this is my first time in a Charbar No. 7 and I was not disappointed. I had the Leap Year Burger which has garlic aioli, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, a medium fried egg, and I substituted the American cheese for the jalapeño cream cheese from the Sweet Heat Burger. It was one of the best burgers that I've had in the Charlotte area.
For my side, I got the shaved brussels, which were cooked perfectly with little pieces of bacon. I put some on my burger and it was 🔥.
The pretzels were exactly what I hoped for, a little crispness on the outside, but soft on the inside. The honey mustard that came out with it was like a Dijon mustard and was very tasty. The cheese for dipping was good also.
My date got the Black Bean Burger and kale slaw. The kale slaw wasn't great, but our server Melanie was very understanding and let her switch it out for a side of broccoli, which was much better.
The atmosphere was very mellow, but I could see there being a more energetic crowd if there's a big sporting event because they have a full bar and lots of TVs.
The bathroom was clean and well taken care of. For an appetizer, 2 meals, 1 dessert, 2 beers, and 2 mixed drinks the total was $93. While it might not be the cheapest place to get dinner, it was definitely worth it. The food was delicious and we...
Read moreWe recently decided to give this restaurant a try and had a mostly enjoyable experience. Our meal started with chips and guacamole, which were fresh and delicious—a lovely beginning. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Club, which had great flavor but could have used a little more chipotle mayo to bring out the zest. The bacon was a bit chewy, but the chicken itself was nicely prepared. I chose tater tots as a side, though they could have been a bit warmer and less oily. My wife went with the Prime Rib French Dip, which had good flavor overall, though a touch more seasoning could have enhanced it. The accompanying Cavatappi pasta was tasty but arrived slightly cooler than expected. My mom ordered the smash burger, which she enjoyed, especially with the above-average fries.
The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant overall, though we noticed a few small areas that could benefit from a bit more attention to detail, like a few flies near the window and some dusty areas. There was also a seasonal gourd that, while charming, appeared to be past its peak. These are all small adjustments, and we’re hopeful they’ll be addressed, as this spot has a lot...
