K's Asian Xpress — Restaurant in Charlotte

Went for the 4.7 rating. I wasn't that impressed, and neither was my sister. I ordered General Tso, which was nothing special that stood out. It was fresh and crispy at least, but the sauce tasted more like a honey sauce with no spicy kick at all. I like my crab rangoons, sweet, but these were way too sweet. Almost like candy. The crab rangoons could be a dessert. I threw away that sweet red dipping sauce after I tried one plain because I was not trying to get diabetes. The chicken wings were smaller than expected. They were also super salty. I needed a drink after the 3 of the 6 tiny wings. The shrimp was smaller than average. Not the tiny salad shrimp, but maybe one size bigger. I had high hopes for this place based off of all of the glowing reviews. Unfortunately my experience lined up with those who had left negative reviews. The food was incredibly overcooked, so dry and crispy that there was barely any chicken left in the hard overcooked breading. With the sesame chicken, The sauce didn’t have much flavor and just tasted like straight soy sauce. The lo mein was just bland noodles with an oddly burnt/old oil flavor to them. The veggies were very bland and soggy. The crab Rangoon was crispy- but unfortunately stale and 99.9% cream cheese. The only positive comment I have is that the short interaction I had with the staff was pleasant but I Will not be returning due to the poor quality...

I was super excited when this place first showed up. It used to be a restaurant prior. The first time I tried the food it was pretty good. Not the best though. I ordered hibachi chicken and steak. Nothing fancy, no frills. The second time I ordered from there, I ordered house lo mein or it might have just been chicken or pork lo mein. I ordered it for lunch because I work from home and it's literally 2 minutes away. Brought it back and obviously ate it.
