Sizzlewich — Restaurant in Charlotte

I thought this place sounded really interesting when I first heard about it so I was excited to try it. We went for a little bit of a late lunch on Friday.

It wasn't empty when we were there, so I hope there are more people during normal meal hours. You order at the counter, find a seat, and they bring your food to you. They were helpful with their recommendations.

We decided to get a large Super Sizzlewich and a large Beef Banh Xeo. They warned us that this was a lot of food, but we didn't realize how big the portions were. A small would be more than enough food for one person.

We got our food pretty quickly. We loved both of them. I probably liked the Banh Xeo a little more, but only because it tasted more Vietnamese. I loved the taste and consistency of the outer shell. It was lighter and crunchier than a crepe.

Think of the sizzlewiches as sub sandwiches. They're full of traditional sub sandwich ingredients and they're served hot. The only difference is that they're served in a hot, greasy, savory crepe instead of a bun. The dancing cow is a breakfast dish and they have an elaborate coffee menu. It's a good lunch place but they lack some things you'd expect in a lunch place that serves subs like soft drinks, hot sauce, napkins on the table for the greasy sizzlewich crepe and something crunchy with the meal like chips. Unfortunately the Sizzlewich portion of the company no longer operates in the location, but I was able to order a breakfast sandwich from the Waterbean Coffee menu.

The menu has about 6 or 7 breakfast sandwiches to choose from. The staff were patient and eager to answer questions I had about the sandwich options. I would have loved having a lunch selection or additional menu options, but overall the quality of the food and service is decent.
