It's very much a place where the locals hangout and certainly what I would qualify as a dive. Karaoke can be pretty fun. People belt out (mostly country) tunes and sometimes spontaneous line dancing breaks out. It is definitely pretty smokey in there since it is allowed indoors. So if you can't handle that then you're probably better off elsewhere. Prices aren't bad. My only issue is that all the seating is cheap and uncomfortable (nothing has a supportive chair back).
