Pleasantly surprised by this neighborhood greasy spoon. The everything omelette was great, well cooked with all the individual components present and flavorful. The chicken fried steak was tender, and while the country gravy had me worried at first (it was insanely thick) it was actually a nice, smooth texture with a great hit of black pepper. Kiddo was excited for her kids stack of silver dollar pancakes and almost burst when she saw the whipped cream and sprinkles. Diner coffee was exactly what you'd expect, but in a good way--nothing fancy, but not burnt and hotter than hades when it hit the table.
As far as atmosphere, again...greasy spoon. It's been open a while and looks it, but in a sort of well-loved kind of way. Kiddo was put off by the torn booth seats but...meh. Only complaint from the adults was that it was hot in the dining room, but it wasn't really a surprise if the HVAC is as old as everything else and it's battling against the blasting summer heat. The service was good, all the workers were visibly hustling the whole time but were still smiling.
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the whole thing and will be adding it to our (very short) list of...
Read moreMy partner and I were on the way back to Florida from visiting family in Virginia when he googled "breakfast near me". We went off-path to this little diner, and we are SO glad we did.
We were greeted immediately when walking in by friendly, smiling servers and were promptly given menus at our choice of table. He ordered a ginormous breakfast of something (can't remember what, but he said it was perfectly done and delicious). I ordered a single banana and walnut pancake which was not only beautiful to look at, but absolutely without a doubt the most delicious, fluffy pancake I've ever eaten. Truly a masterpiece, and I asked the server to make sure the cook knew how wonderful it was.
The prices were fair, the service was on point, and the food is BEYOND GOOD. Do yourself a favor and support this locally owned little diner off the beaten path in a non-descript shopping center. You'll be glad you did, and you're helping a locally owned business stay in business to boot. Kudos to this team for a great...

The food was good, solid diner fare. There are by a few creative choices on the menu if you want something other than a couple scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy. The portions are what you would expect (though I should point out the bowl of oatmeal would easily feed two people). Similarly, the prices track along with any other diner (though definitely cheaper than the fancier/trendier joints).
The Saturday morning I visited, the place was packed and I would be willing to bet that most everyone there was a regular (which suggests that they are consistently good and reasonably priced).
If you're in neighborhood often give it a shot - it might become your go-to breakfast joint. If you want to grab a bite at an authentic local diner your can't...
