Met with friends and family at Tenango's Mexican Restaurant in Chesnee SC.

Servers immediately brought chips and bean dip to our table and took our drink orders. Fast and efficient. The chips at Tenango's are fresh, warm and thick with a perfect crunch. Not too hard. Soft crunch...superb. Yeah, I know, it's only a chip but I didn't know that they could be that good until I tried Tenango's. The bean dip is the best I've had...anywhere. And if you're anything like me - a regular guy American - you've eaten at many Mexican restaurants over the years, so saying it is the best is saying something indeed! They also have a guacamole that is fresh with a pico de gallo, citrus & lime flavor profile. Fresh and very tasty. The bean dip, chips and guacamole were only the beginning of what turned out to be a delicious meal.

The orders included Shrimp Fundido, Pollo Loco, Fajitas, Tamales and, as far as I know, the world's best churros, which were served warm and delicious. We were all very well pleased with the food quality and flavor.

Our waiter, a young man by the name of Bryan, was our server, did an outstanding job of keeping our drinks filled and supplied many napkins.

The ambience is excellent too. Cozy but not confined, and very clean! Murals from the Mexican town of Tenango authentically depict scenes from the owners home town.

I highly recommend Tenango's to anyone who likes fresh delicious Mexican fare, served promptly by very good staff in a welcoming warm setting at a reasonable price.

I actually didn't get to eat .. it was a super slow time only 1 table in the restaurant. It was my birthday and I was trying to use my American express gift checks that are basically a travelers check and accepted anywhere that takes American express. The owner treated me like I was some criminal or something trying to pass fake money or whatever. I begged him to call American express, my bank whatever he just kept speaking in Spanish to the hostess saying no when and saying in Spanish they are fake . I speak Spanish and he was speaking fluent English when he approached me ... This is a small town and this is why he has 1 table in the dinner rush .he will never get my business and I plan to call American express and have them give him a refresher course . Just because you haven't seen one of these doesn't mean they are fake . Educate your staff...

Service was amazing nothing wrong on that at all. No liquor license cause they are fairly new which isn't a big deal. But the food was bland for the most part I got the enchiladas ranchero which was bland except for the meat, it was obviously smoked which I love so much absolutely great but the rest of it was bland which in chesnee I'm not surprised cater to the old folk I get it. Their bean dip which was free was also good not gonna lie. But the spinach queso puts it completely down to a 1 star, what is wrong with you guys you put practically a stick of butter in spinach queso and kept the spinach whole leaf instead of cutting it up, no spice whatsoever in the queso 0 peppers it may as well have been called spinach 🍿 cause that's what it tastes like, cut the spinach leave out the butter please and add some peppers to your queso( not heat spicy but...
