Order first and then seat yourself. The main dining area and outside are fairly spacious. There is plenty of parking. The side room near the restrooms is a bit cramped with barstools lining the window looking out to the parking lot. A table right behind that bar makes it feel like you’re right on top of each other. The inside echoes noise so if you or your children are sensitive to noise, outside might be the better option.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The place was pretty packed and our food came out VERY quick. Our family of 4 ordered:
A kids meal - Chicken nuggets. They are very similar to McDonalds in look but they tasted a million times better!
Pork sliders and a side of fries - this was very tasty and they were well built. They held together through each bite.
My Alibi burger - this was underwhelming. The burger itself was pretty bland but the bacon was crispy and fresh, the cheddar cheese was nice and melty. The tomato and lettuce were both very fresh as well, with a nice crisp in the lettuce. The main disappointment here was that I couldn’t taste the garlic aioli at all. The burger was a bit juicy and the bun held up the whole time. I would order this again and ask for extra aioli.
Mac and Cheese with burnt ends - WOW!!! This was the winner out of all the dishes. The burnt ends were perfect, the cheese was gooey and melty in all the ways you’d want it to be.
Appetizer - sausage board. This was very yummy, not too little and not too much to hold you over for the very short wait to get your food.
We didn’t order drinks and opted for water instead. My biggest complaint is that the water was undrinkable for me. It had some sort of sweet or vanilla taste to it that threw me off. I realize most folks will order a soft drink or other drink and the selection for those are decent but if you’re just drinking water, maybe just...
Read moreThe food is subpar even for bar food, and over priced. The service was terrible. The beer selection is subpar. I was unimpressed all across the board and I genuinely get the impression that the owners don't know what they are doing. They should hire real cooks for the kitchen instead of the neighborhood kids. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich, which is mostly bread, and onion rings, which were under cooked. I forget what they charged for it all. I also ordered the sausage platter (I was there with a friend), it came with three pretzel bread sticks, some dipping sauces and three skewers, each with four thin sliced sausage medallions that were seared. There was less than 2 oz. of sausage on that platter that cost me just south of 20$. My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich and onion rings. They brought him the grilled chicken sandwich, explaining that they were out of the fried chicken and the onion rings were under cooked. I was finished with my order by the time they brought my friends order out. One of the owners, an older woman, didn't even look at us when she said "sorry" before walking away, and I was comped for my 2 ciders. I paid over 50$ for this piss poor experience. I highly, HIGHLY recommend going some place else. The only reason I am leaving 1 star is because I have to in order to...
Read moreThis is an interesting spot in a brand new strip mall they built on East Eaton and Floral. Most of the spaces in the strip aren't even leased yet so that leaves plenty of parking. Both times I've been there was for dinner, the first time it was packed but it was summer so more people were out, this time was mid-fall so it was already dark and chilly when we got there and thus less crowded but still busy.
The first time I went here with a buddy some time in mid-June and it was ok, I had the Alibi Burger but it just didn't do it for me. Their pretzel and beer cheese appetizer was pretty good. The service was excellent, our waiter was very attentive and friendly, always checking in and refilling our drinks. The ambience on the patio was very chill, although it seemed kind of strange to look across the street and see houses. Still, it was nice.
Fast-forward five months and that same friend and I checked it out again and I enjoyed my meal much more this time around. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Fries as a starter and the New York Style Pastrami on rye with tots for my main. All of it was great, and again this time the service was still excellent. It was a chilly night so not many folks were on the patio this time but one of the staff flipped on the fire pit at our table which was...
