If you haven’t been to Colonial Cafe in Chicopee, you are seriously missing out. This place is a true hidden gem and hands down the best restaurant in the city. Every time I go, the food is consistently delicious and made with real care. The homemade daily soups and specials are always worth trying—comforting, flavorful, and clearly made from scratch. If you’re going on a Tuesday, Tacos are a must, especially when paired with their rich and zesty Southwest soup—the perfect combo of spice and heartiness.
The meatloaf is truly next level—tender, well-seasoned, and absolutely satisfying. And the BLT? It’s not just good—it’s honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, and toasted bread done just right. It’s simple, but they execute it better than anywhere else.
The service is always friendly, fast, and welcoming. The bartenders are top-notch—personable, professional, and always ready with a smile or recommendation. And then there’s Vicki, the cook and owner. She’s the heart and soul of the place. Her passion for food and her love for her customers shine through in everything she does. She makes you feel like part of the family the minute you walk in the door.
Colonial Cafe is the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to—not just for the food, but for the people, the atmosphere, and the sense of community. If you’re in or around Chicopee, put this place at the top of your list. A...
Read morecolonialcafe, Chicopee has amazing food, especially for the price! They have taco Tuesdays where they offer $2 tacos that are huge. And on Fridays did you fish on Fridays. Usually I eat there twice a week Tuesdays and Fridays I just started going there about a month ago the staff are friendly. I typically will get two to three meals out of the serving size that they give you! And their prices to begin with are extremely cheap. There is another place that does fish as a Fisherman's Platter and charges just under $40, Colonial Cafe only charges just over $25 in the plate size is just as big if not bigger! Cooked fresh and ready to go if you're ordering take out they do have a phone number where you can call in advance just tell them EJ sent you! Don't be sure to take good care of you. I have no Financial benefit for recommending this place my benefit is effectively good care of me when I'm there and I'm sure they'll do the same for you....
Read moreThe ole saying, " don't judge a book by its cover" really applies here. Easy enough to drive by, if you're not looking for it, but don't, because you'd be missing out on some really good eats! Fish and chips, taco Tuesdays and my new favorite lunch time grinder, beef tips with peppers, onions, mushrooms and pepper jack cheese on a nice, fresh 8" grinder roll brushed with garlic butter....sooo good! The steak tips are large, tender and cooked to perfection. The roll, depending on how long before you sink your teeth into it, starts to gather all the succulent juices from the steak as it rests and gives you a partial French dip feel, but not so much that it falls apart in your hands...! I highly recommend giving them a try. Call ahead, not sure if this grinder is made on a daily basis. And being so fixated on the thought of that grinder, I forgot to mention you can get your favorite adult beverages...
