I used to go to this place all the time when I lived on island. The burgers are just awesome, as well as the fries and shakes. The lobster roll isn’t too bad. The fish sandwich is a must! The price for the lobster roll is in-line with all the others around on the island (meaning a tad overpriced), but man, we used to love to go and sit on the back porch, and watch the boats coming into the harbor, as well as stare in fascination at what appears to be a little house half over land, half over water, on the left, as seen from the back deck- that looks to be simply filled with junk and maybe some antiques. The Galley has been family owned and operated since it's inception. It sits at the beginning of the Menemsha Pier, home of dozens of working lobster and fishing boats. The catch cannot be fresher than this. The Galley is totally unpretentious. You order and pay at windows in the front and then can sit on the multi-table porch overlooking the boats, working shacks, and homes. Or just carry out . There are great restaurants on the Vineyard but none match The Galley for lobster rolls and...
