This is the quintessential Southern BBQ place! I had seen some not great reviews recently, but our experience was very positive. The atmosphere was friendly and staff interacted with locals as you might see on an episode of Andy Griffith! Nicely nostalgic...In so many places these days, the staff seems annoyed to even be there. This felt different. We went on a Saturday for lunch. We did the family meal of sliced bbq and definitely had enough for 4 total plates, maybe even more. The 'pups' were a great texture, the sauces were on the table and not drowning the meat. The white slaw was crunchy and not too sweet and the beans actually had bacon in them! The homemade ranch dressing is a must. The portions are generous, and our server was very attentive and nice. We'll definitely be back 🐖

I really enjoy this salad bar whenever I'm in the area. I hear they have great barbecue and other foods but I normally go for the salad bar. The salad bar plus the hot food bar is only 1050 and it is definitely worth it. It's $1 off if u go between 2 n 5. The salad bar includes shredded lettuce AND romaine, veggies cheese is cottage cheese Beats crackers and various dressings. The hot food bar has several fried food options some pork barbecue chicken mashed potatoes green beans sweet potato casserole cabbage pot pie slow and some other fixin's. The barbecue chicken could be a little less dry for the breasts but besides that I always leave satisfied. The sweet stuff for really nice as well which is definitely a plus.

My girlfriend and I ordered country style steak with pintos and a side salad, the salad was just cheap brown shredded lettuce and one chopped up slightly bad tomato. the pintos were not seasoned, and tasted like they came straight out of a can. The country style steak looked like a can of wet cat food. Not to mention everything we ordered was ice-cold. We were quoted 15-20 mins for the food to be ready and arrived exactly 20 mins later. So disappointed in the food. Our entire meal was $30 (We also ordered two footlong hotdogs and also cold and soggy from sitting so long.)

My husband had told me he would never go back to Porky's the last time he ate there because he was served cold hot dogs after waiting almost half an hour and when he asked the server to heat them up, she was overheard talking to other employees about there always being one bad apple, referring to him. When she returned with the hot dogs, he asked if there was a problem and said he wasn't trying to be difficult and she told him sweetly that it was fine and that their steamer was broken...as if that made it okay to serve cold hot dogs. Two faced much? I think so. Today we ordered to go. One fish sandwich, 2 footlong hot dogs and 2 fries. When asked if we wanted tartar sauce and slaw, my husband asked for them to put them both on the side. He reiterated that we wanted 2 orders of fries and went over the entire order again. We got there and I went in to pick it up. When I checked the order, there was only 1 order of fries. The cashier checked the order and said only 1 was ordered. I told her my husband had told whoever took the order twice that we wanted 2 orders of fries. She just looked at me. Didn't offer to get another order and let me pay for them let alone give us a complimentary order since it was their error. I went out to the truck and told my husband and he went in and asked who had taken his order when he called and the girl he spoke with said she didn't know and she guessed she could go look. Again, no one offered to get us another order of fries. We left and went home. I opened the bag and found that they had not even put the tartar sauce in there, so I ate a dry fish sandwich. Apparently at this establishment the customer is not always right, even when they really are right. I've never seen such terrible customer service. That is not how a restaurant is run. Just pathetic. If I could give zero stars for service, I most...

If I could give 0 stars I would. We walked in, and saw the seat yourself sign. 5 waitresses behind the counter, ALL saw us sit down. An elderly couple came in and sat down, a waitress ran to them and took their order. Another couple came in and sat behind us. Still not one waitress moved. After 10min one waitress told the others someone needed “to go greet those tables” , one waitress said “oh those tables have already eaten”, when she was told no that we had been waiting (so they knew), she begrudgingly came over and sat menus down at both tables and asked our drink orders. She told the table behind us “I’m sorry, I never saw anyone come in” (total lie). She walked off to get our drinks…..cue more waiting. About 5min later 2 girls come up (one was being trained) and asked the table behind us and then us what we wanted to drink. So we told them. Annnnddd more waiting…the 2 waitresses came back and took the order of the table behind us. Glanced at us and walked off. 5min later my mom walked to the front to one of the waitresses and asked could someone please take our order, we have been waiting for a long time. The woman got huffy and said “yeah, give me a minute”. When we finally had our order taken and got our food, I think it was the worst meal I’ve had out. Mac and cheese was stone cold (refrigerator cold) with 0 seasoning. Country style steak was so salty it was gross. The only good thing was the hushpuppies and that’s sad. We never got a ticket, so we went up front and told them what we had to eat to check out. The girl rang it up and ran our card, and promptly walked off. We weren’t given a receipt, we weren’t able to sign one, nothing. With today’s economy you would think people would go above and beyond with service, since they rely on tips to make their living. We will...

The food was ok but I had better. The waitress Chelsea got our drink order wrong, I order a diet sundrop and my husband ordered regular sundrop and she said we both wanted diet which is not what we said. We both wanted the ribeye special but since they replace it with lasagna we didn't get it. They was out of lasagna and ribs so I thought since they was out we could have gotten the ribeye but nope we wasn't allowed too. Husband ordered the Philly sub with fries and it was alright and I ordered the small chopped bbq plate. The bbq was okay but it could have been better. Chelsea the waitress we had only came and check on us twice but never asked how our food was. I had to ask a different waitress to get my husband a regular sundrop refill when Chelsea was sitting in the back doing whatever. When the waitresses was doing side work; instead of filling up the sauces in the back they done it on the floor which is completely disgusting. They don't even wash the lids out and they don't get cross contamination laws either. Same goes for the ketchup pitcher, I watched another waitress refill the pitcher without washing it first. (Nasty) As a former waitress, that screams cross contamination to me and I'm surprised nobody has gotten sick. Also they charge us with a fee for a card sale but when I called nobody told me about the fee because I even asked and they told me no fee applied. There was not even a sign saying that they charge a fee for a card posted. DONT RECOMMEND COMING HERE TO EAT. I personally will...
