Chippewa Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Chippewa Falls

If you want to eat here go in and dine there or call to order. Their online ordering system is the worst of any restaurant in the Chippewa/Eau Claire area. It will force you to choose items they don't even have on the menu.

Ordered Country Fried Steak - got a popup asking to select a potato (what does this even mean?) and YOU MUST SELECT AT LEAST 1 OPTION. Originally was going to select baked potato but I decided to select cheese instead assuming since the category was called POTATO I would receive CHEESE POTATO but no according to them at the restaurant that did not exist. In that same popup beneath it says to select a side and once again YOU MUST SELECT AT LEAST 1 OPTION so I chose the cheese curd upgrade assuming I would get potato of some kind AND cheese curds. IF THE SIDES ARE OPTIONAL WHY ARE YOU REQUIRING A SELECTION???

When I receive my order at the store they ask what does cheese mean? By this question I am absolutely baffled. IT'S ON YOUR MENU AS A POTATO OPTION! She didn't seem to understand and said the cheese curds were an upgrade of the potato... WHAT?? THEY ARE IN SEPARATE SECTIONS! When asking why is that on the menu then they simply didn't answer and said the cheese curds are an upgrade of the potato. I am upset at this point and she offers to get me a side salad or another side option instead and doesn't say if I would be charged for that or not (I already payed over $20 for the country fried steak and $10 for bacon). I am not looking to spend more money on this meal. I decline and leave. If I could remove the tip from my order I would in a heartbeat. IF I order from them again they will not be getting a tip as repayment for this issue.

I have been coming to this restaurant for a long time now " a few years" and have always been happy and satisfied, until lately.... the last 6 take out orders I've gotten have been wrong, or they are missing items that go with the meal I ordered or the extra things I added to my order where just not there. I recently went in one last time, giving the benefit of the doubt, things will turn around, I ordered my food ... I waited well over 20 minutes "way longer than I have ever waited he before" for a chicken wrap and fries.... my waitress said there was a large take out order before me, which is why my food took so long to get.. ok... I get it... but there was still a lack of consideration to tell me when I ordered that it would take 10 times as long to get than normal.... I had a very small glass of water with NO refills, nor was I ever asked once if I wanted more water. Yes, my food came out SUPER HOT, which is good. But not the "Good" super hot. It was the " Hurry up, get this plate out there. He's been waiting a long time, slap it in the microwave, and get it out there hot." I would say soggy mirvowave chicken wrap, not crispy, and soggy fries. Unfortunately, as of lately, I will refrain going there anymore. And I always tipped very very very...

Typical foody . Run well by a nice man from outside of the USA. A success story for America. The food is very average and it will fill you up. they have very few items that stand out on the menu however and what they sell while food will not impress you. It is by no way gross it is just simple items that are forgettable however the food will be served well and it won't taste bad. The Beef tips they sell on mondays are some of the best I have tasted and I would eat them every single monday if a super small portion did not cost $20 per person to order. I understand it is not the fault of these shops that prices on food went super crazy but the portions of this dish are so small for the money that it is simply too expensive to even eat this anymore. If you are in for a breakfast this is your place as they make a mean breakfast. I would not fear bringing friends here for dinner or breakfast because they have enough menu to allow anyone to get what they want in their belly. Not a super place but also not a bad...
