The Final Round Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Chowchilla

UPDATE 6/30/19 - Had dinner with the family today and tried a few new menu items. Fish and Chips - The fish was almost flavorless; mostly tasted like oil. I opted for onion rings instead of fries this time. The menu always states Beer Battered Onion Rings, but I have yet to receive beer batter onion rings. This time they were Panko breaded as far as I could tell, and they didn't taste great. Mac N Cheese Burger - My husband had this item and he liked it; only problem was that he couldn't eat it like a burger, but he at it open faced with a knife and fork. Good item, but may need to rethink the presentation. Hot Wings - The kids had wings with their pizza and they opted for the XXXhot Sauce this time. It wasn't hot for them, but they enjoyed the flavor.

I saw a few items on the menu that should probably just be a special such as prosciutto wrapped melon. Instead of doing a revamp of the menu every 4 or 5 months, how about just having a basic menu of the most ordered items then a weekly specials/seasonal menu? This may help with the consistency of the food.

UPDATE 2/9/19 - My husband and some friends decided to make it a date night at TFR this past Saturday. Just about every other thing we tried to order was out of stock; bleu cheese, pinot grigio, mozzarella sticks, some kind of beer that my friend wanted (can't remember the name). I ordered the flank steak, then the waitress came back and said they were out of that too. About 5 minutes later, she came back and said they actually have it, so I switched my order....again.

While the menu looks great and the plating is pretty, most of the time, as of late, the food itself misses the mark on flavor. The service is usually great and we felt for our waitress having to come back with consistent bad news.

Being the only decent date night restaurant in Chowchilla, I hope the quality of the experience improves.

Had coffee and dessert Tuesday September 27 2016 evening around 7 pm. Restaurant has meeting room and restaurant sitting area with nice view of golf course . Women's bathroom with two stalls very clean. Did not check men's room.

Lobby waiting area has bench and one chair and couple of dining tables. That is the only reason we did not give it a four.

Waitress was very attentive and friendly and checked on us frequently, she would get a five for service. We didn't get the opportunity to order a full meal, cause we already had eaten before we arrived at the adjacent RV park resort. Outside we noticed a tented area for outside events. It was a nice place to hang out and grab a beer. They could improve in attentiveness to detail. One of the glasses on the table was dirty and the martini we ordered couldn't be made because they couldnt find any olives. We ordered a pom martini instead and it came out in a chipped glass. The food was a little overcooked and dry but the staff and the garlic fries made up for the deficiencies. I would go back but really hope...
