The Sand Trap Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Chowchilla

Have been there a few times since changing to SAND TRAP, closest place to get a drink/ food to us in Chowchilla. Seating in restaurant part are the worst, cheap metal chairs & no cushion, guess they don't want you to stay long, lol! Food tasted good but really $$$ for what you get. Bar area not much better. I was there Christmas Eve, around 2:00 , sat at the bar, took bartender at least 10-15 min to even acknowledge me, I ask her for a menu to order a sandwich, waited again at least 10 more min after receiving menu to order, no one else working in bar area except bartender. The drink & food came quick, both were good. Had a couple of drinks, got my bill, RIDICULOUS price for drinks, both the same, but one was $16.00 & one was $18.00 , I ask her why, she told me the computer automatically puts price. I could go to a good bar & pay alot less for basically a rum punch drink & not those prices! New owners didn't do much except change the chairs, not for the better. I've been to fast food places that were alot nicer & alot more comfortable seating. Not what you would expect for a golf course...

Our recent dinner at Sand Trap Bar & Grill was a memorable experience, thanks in large part to the excellent food and service. We ordered the mozzerella sticks, grilled chicken sandwich and the chipotle chicken linguine, all of which were flavorful and well-prepared.The mozzerella sticks were crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, perfect for dipping in marinara and ranch sauce. Our server, Kelcey, was exceptional. She was attentive and provided great service. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was very nice and clearly passionate about his restaurant. To top off the meal, we indulged in a delicious dessert. The cheesecake was creamy and rich, and the pie crust was exceptionally tasty and buttery. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner.We definitely will try the Oreo cheesecake next time! I would highly recommend Sand Trap Bar & Grill to anyone seeking a satisfying and memorable...

My friends and I went there about two weeks ago. I got there first to grab a table. The bar was full but the restaurant was not, but there was a large full table on the end with about 8 people. The servers brought me a Coke as I asked. Then my friends got there and they brought us menus. The waitresses never serviced our table again. We waited 40 minutes and still no service. They only kept servicing the one full table towards the back of the restaurant towards the bar. I noticed there was a another family of 4 seated in a middle table who were waiting and they had no drinks only menus. My friends and I got up and walked right out of the restaurant. We ended up going to Farnesi’s which is a better restaurant and we received good service there. I will never go back to this restaurant...
