I hate to give such a low rating, especially in times like this but I would hate for others to waste hard earned money on very disappointing food preparation. I have gone here a few time, giving them the opportunity as a customer, but last time I was there I again spent around $60, which was high for a few items, and was very disappointed on the over cooked Carne Asada Fries, but not just on one order but two orders, over cooked means hard almost burnt fries, meat and cheese was nearly visible. Tacos were made with 2 large tortillas, with potions for mini tacos, it was just embarrassing. I wouldn’t of minded if they had sold them to me as mini tacos with small tortillas, the meat was good. Lastly, even if you order to eat in, the food is packed and tied in a plastic bag, not giving you the best vibe. Why a 2 star, the food itself isn’t bad, when done right, but you can definitely see the portion size and the pride they take in preparing food is just not a priority. Make me think at a personal option that they are struggling to stay afloat and it’s passed on to the consumer with higher prices and less quality of product. If you want to spend less money there is a jack in the box next door , you’ll at least know what you pay for. So order at your own risk.

I have been going to this place for years and recently started using Uber-Eats for delivery. Never had an issue until tonight. I ordered Cheese Enchiladas, Shrimp Enchiladas, and a Potato Taco. Uber driver Marco delivered on time. When I opened the bag I had 1 container with 1 cheese enchilada & 1 shrimp enchilada and the taco. I called Cotija’s to tell them they forgot food in my order. The person in the background said he knew which order it was and I could come down and get the food or Uber could delivery. I asked if they were paying for Uber and they said “No”. I told them since it was there mistake they should. I was then told to call tomorrow and speak to the manager. Needless to say I a bit irritated.

Used to live close and this became my husband's and I favorite taco shop. We now live in San Ysidro and we continue to drive here when we want a GREAT taco shop. The food has never disappointed me, they have lots to choose from, the prices are affordable, the staff is always smiling and friendly, and it's always clean when we go in. They're normally always busy because it's so close to so many homes and shops. Expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes. Trust me when I say every bite is worth the wait. When they aren't busy, it's pretty fast. No drive thru through.

Past few months they keep skimping on the carne asada. I get a carne asada burrito with beans and guac and they just give me a mushy bean/guac burrito with a little meat sprinkled in there.

It used.to be proportionate to everything else, but lately I feel like they're using it as an excuse to skimp me on the meat.

The service is fine and all but whoever is making the food needs to quit giving people burritos with a thin line of meat on the side of it. Do better man. I even let the person taking the order know that my last burrito barley had any meat in it and they didn't seem to care at all or tell the cook.

Looking at other reviews lately it seems this place is going down the drain, used to be good food but now it's just slapped together Mexican slop food. I don't think I'll be eating here anymore, I've wasted my money too many times thinking the next time will be better.

Goodbye after almost 20 years of eating here! I'll go down to lolitas or don...

The woman running the front seriously need to step up her customer service skills. I called in my order (took about ten minutes to get here) and had to wait another 10 minutes to get my food. As I’m waiting she’s gossiping with her friend that just walked in. I could see in them have a grand ol time cussing and laughing. In the mirror I could see her move my food from kitchen window to the counter didn’t let me know it’s ready. I had to interrupt there conversation to about my food. So I got it and asked if it just came out, she lied and my food was cold to the touch. Than so customers walked in and she didn’t greet them, no no no the conversation with her friend was more important. What’s going on here? If she continues to stay working here I’m going to have to...
