My first visit (8/19/24) to Soufflé Cafe & Bistro, a tiny but charming restaurant, was a delightful experience. Despite its small size, the café left a big impression with its scrumptious French toast (1st photo). The dish was perfectly cooked, generously dusted with powdered sugar, and topped with fresh strawberries and a unique vanilla citrus sauce. The fresh fruit medley (2nd pic) on the side was a lovely touch, adding a refreshing balance to the meal.
The only downside was that the waitress didn’t catch my request to have the sauce on the side, but this minor issue didn’t take away from the overall experience. The food was delicious, and the cozy atmosphere made for a pleasant visit. I’m looking forward to returning and trying more of their offerings.
I revisited Soufflé Cafe & Bistro after having such a delightful experience during my first visit. My initial encounter left a positive impression, thanks to their delicious French toast and decent customer service, made it a place I looked forward to returning to. Unfortunately, my latest visit was a stark contrast and has left me skeptical about whether I’ll return.
On my second visit (8/22/24), I opted for the chicken and waffles (3rd photo), a classic dish that I had high hopes for. However, everything from the presentation to the taste and texture was disappointing. The three "chicken tenders" were anything but tender—they were more like rocks than the succulent pieces I expected. The waffle was equally disappointing, with a texture and flavor that could only be compared to clay. It was dry, bland, and entirely unappetizing.
To make matters worse, the customer service was severely lacking this time around. My waitress didn’t check on me even once throughout the meal. This inattentiveness, combined with the poor quality of the food, made for a very unsatisfactory dining experience.
Given my first visit, I had high expectations, but this recent experience has made me hesitant to give Soufflé Cafe & Bistro another chance. I hope this was just an off day for them, but for now, I’m not sure if I’ll...
Read moreWow! This is a hidden gem that deserves a spotlight! I had no idea this place existed, and judging by what the staff said, I’m not the only one who’s been late to the party. But I'm thrilled I finally found it. Soufflé Cafe & Bistro is one of those rare spots that feels like it’s been waiting just for you to discover it.
I showed up a little before closing and they greeted us with nothing but kindness and zero hint of the negative energy you sometimes get elsewhere. That alone speaks volumes.
We ordered breakfast, and every bite was a warm hug from the kitchen. The omelet? Fluffy, flavorful, and gone way too fast. The potatoes hit that perfect crispy-soft balance, and the waffle, a chef’s kiss! Golden, crisp, and just the right amount of indulgent. I left with a blueberry cheesecake in hand (and absolutely no regrets), and let’s just say it almost didn’t survive the car ride home.
What makes this place shine isn’t just the food, it’s the heart behind it. You can feel that it’s family-run, likely by a group of sisters who clearly love what they do. It’s the kind of place where the care shows up in every detail, from the warm welcome to the perfectly executed plates. Way better than any chain restaurant, and with soul to spare.
Oh, and did I mention they have a drive-through? That’s right. Gourmet-level comfort food and a drive-through window? It’s like they knew exactly what we needed in life.
Already planning my next visit, and this time I’m diving into their drink menu. If you haven’t been yet, go. Just go. You’ll walk out full, happy, and wondering how you ever missed this little gem in the...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delighted to share my experience at Soufflé Cafe and Bistro – a charming gem nestled off 1103. Despite its petite interior, the cafe offers a cozy ambiance with a few inviting outdoor tables. The staff exudes warmth, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Our culinary journey included the waffle latte, iced matcha, Belgian waffle, French toast, and home fries.
Upon arrival, our drinks stole the spotlight. The waffle latte, a visual delight, proved equally pleasing to the palate. Yet, its decadence necessitated an extra plate, given the delightful chaos of whipped cream and caramel. Despite the mess, the flavors were so exquisite that a repeat order is inevitable. The iced matcha latte showcased expert craftsmanship, striking a perfect balance.
Moving on to the culinary delights, each dish was a testament to the chef’s expertise. The Belgian waffle achieved optimal crispness, the French toast was simply divine, and even the home fries stood out with their impeccable seasoning and crisp texture. The presentation was impeccable, elevating the entire dining experience.
Although the waffle latte’s indulgence demands a bit of cleanup, the overall excellence of Soufflé Cafe and Bistro makes it the reigning champion for sit-down breakfast in Schertz/Cibolo. In my opinion, this establishment stands head and shoulders above the rest. Highly recommended for a breakfast experience that seamlessly blends taste, presentation,...
