Editing my review to say that I did send an email where directed so they could "correct the issue" and never received a response
Incredibly disappointed with this restaurant. My husband and I dined in on Wednesday 6/19/24, for our anniversary. We have a had a really rough year financially as my husband was diagnosed with cancer this year. We had gotten a gift card for Christmas and were looking forward to a stress free evening not having to worry about money. However when the meal came to a close and we paid with the gift card they refused to take it. The gift card was one of those experience local ones, and Che was one of the listed restaurants. The waiter told us we had to use it downtown which makes no sense because the gift card did not specify location and the restaurants have the same owner, same menu, i.e. the same point of sale system.
We paid the bill, which was way too much for us to afford, we are now struggling to get groceries. There is no logical reason why they didn't accept this gift card, they had to have agreed to have their name on these cards.
The meal itself was really underwhelming, just to add insult to injury. The appetizer came out cold, my husband's burger was dry and he only ate half of it.
I doubt anyone will make this right. I'm so upset that what was supposed to be a stress free night has turned into us now struggling to get by...
Read moreFirst time at this restaurant. We were able to get seated quickly, and the general atmosphere was great.
The waiter took our drink and appetizer order right away, but didn't return for nearly 20 minutes. We saw our drinks sitting on the bar nearby, but felt it was rude to grab them ourselves, so we patiently waited. We saw the hostess walk by and asked her to flag down our waiter, so we could finally be served.
We ordered our meal at that time so we wouldn't be delayed further. When our empanadas came out, one person in our party had a mistake in their order (though minor.. 1 of the 3 empanadas was not the right one). Rather than leave the correct empanadas at the table for my friend to eat, the waiter took the whole plate to the back. By the time the food was brought back out, the rest of us were practically done eating.
Lastly, we had to flag down other servers to get water and drink refills. Our server was "organizing food in the back."
Overall just a disappointing experience considering the...
Read moreWent for the first time the other day - atmosphere was nice. Couple of strange things happened - we saw there was Sangria on the menu, so we were excited to order it. Waitress told us that it was only available on Sundays... Which we thought was odd because it was on the menu, right in the middle of the drink section. Odd. As a table, we got a bunch of empanadas to share. We alerted the waitress that I was a vegetarian so it would be great if the veggie ones were on a separate plate so we could identify them easily. She told us that was impossible because the cook didn't speak any English, and there was no way for her to communicate this request. She then said all of them go in the same fryer anyway.... Which was incredibly disheartening to hear as a vegetarian. I'm sure this is common, but the lack of ability to even separate the empanadas was super weird and I probably won't be back because of this. Not really into making a guessing game out...
