I have been going to Hitching Post my entire life (over 30 years) but came in the first time since the new owners took over and I was not impressed. First off, it’s not the World’s Best Chicken anymore, more like World’s Blandest Chicken. We were not greeted when coming in, so the atmosphere felt awkward. Before, we were always greeted and it was a warm and genuine environment. They also forgot part of our order and we had to remind them twice to provide the missing item. All the desserts used to be homemade, now looks store bought. I will forever miss the pineapple upside down cake. The guy working kept calling everyone dawg, that was off putting and the girl just didn’t seem happy to be there, I hope she was just having a bad day but it’s just weird because the previous staff was always friendly and smiling. I honestly don’t have any desire to go back, it’s not the same Hitching Post that it used to be.

Update: By the very professional response from the new owners of Hitching Post, I definitely will not be back. From what I have heard from the previous staff and what I have seen of their reaction to a person’s opinion, I completely agree not only are their attitudes distasteful, so is the food. There are several reviews from recent that say the food is inedible, I mean how can you mess up a thin burger… you burn the burger on one order and it’s undercooked the next. Another few reviews also agree that the chicken isn’t the World’s Best anymore. Maybe instead of calling people Karens, you work on your professionalism and how to train your staff on how to cook properly and the “same recipes” because they were obviously off! 😅 Oh, 5 stars… you mean 4.5- so not quite there and most of those reviews were before you all took over, let’s see if you all can keep that rating. 🤣 (Added the picture of their response since they...

I was in Kellogg for work and we needed to grab a quick lunch. We stumbled across this local gem since it was the closest restaurant. This is exactly what you think of when people say “hole in the wall or dive.” It’s super cute and cozy, with homemade southern favorites and friendly welcoming staff. Since we were in a rush, I ordered the special. It was country fried chicken with two sides and a roll. My coworker order chicken tenders and mashed potatoes. Our food was packed and ready for takeout in less than 10 minutes. Both of the meals had large servings and around $10. The country fried steak was two chicken tenders covered in gravy. The chicken was not processed or pressed. They were cut up chicken breasts. It was chicken like you would have if you made it at home. The chicken was crispy, but we both agreed it could have used more seasoning. The green beans were delicious and well seasoned. My only complaint was that my entire meal was in one to-go tray without dividers. The green bean juice was not contained. Luckily, we were only a few minutes away so I just tried to separate them. Next time, I will try a burger and onion rings. They looked amazing. They have a large variety of sides and delectable looking desserts. If it wasn’t lent, I would have grabbed the blackberry cobbler or cherry pie. If you are ever near Cincinnati, stop by this local treasure and...

On the way to Coney Island Christmas Lights, The TuesCrew of Ohio TuesDayTrips looked over the eateries’ in the area and decided on supper at Hitching Post - World's Best Fried Chicken. Yup, they advertise on Google, on their sign and on the side wall of the building that they serve the “World's Best Fried Chicken”.

When we arrived, we found the parking lot full and a long line at the counter. Always a good sign… With only about nine booths available to sit at, we wondered if we’d have to eat in the van. However, we were able to get two booths next to each other as most folks were getting their meals to-go. We ordered chicken baskets which come with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The ordering and serving process were completed by awesome cheerful folks.

The ambiance is not much to discuss as there is very little. However, it is not about the decor! It's the Chicken!

Well, the Hitching Post can justifiably boast about their chicken. It is excellent! It was hot enough to burn lips! The gravy over the potatoes was some of the best we’ve had at any restaurant. The slaw was fine but, the packaged dinner roll was nothing special. As for World’s Best? Well, that’s a personal preference. C’mon over here and find out for yourself and once you do, remember this review –...
