The Turf Club Has One Of Ohio’s Best Burgers #theturfclub #fyp

I have driven past here numerous times, but never stopped in. We stopped in for dinner early on a Saturday with no expectations. The only thing I ever heard about this place was, "They have great burgers." Our party of four was seated promptly, it was kind of dirty and wreaked of gas fumes. Not sure what that was about, but the fumes eventually went away. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Lump Crab and Lobster Cake for an appetizer, BIG mistake. It was disgusting, I am not sure why it's even on the menu. Beers were cold and the local craft selection was good. However, it was pretty shady, one of the waitresses suggested I try Bell's Hopslam instead of the draft IPA I was drinking. She tried passing it off as a local limited brew. I am well versed in local craft beer, so after I received the can I knew she was full of it. I looked on the bottom of the can and it was canned in January. The can said, "Enjoy within 3 months." Hopslam has a short shelf life, so they were pushing expired beer to get rid of it at $8.00 a can. I saw the owner Terry onsite behind the bar area, but he made no attempts to walk around and interact with the patrons. If the owner is onsite and visible, I expect interaction. The service was good, the burgers were great, but everything else was nothing spectacular. If you go, drink water and only order burgers. If you live in that area and that's all you have to pick from, I get it. However, I live almost an hour away and if I am going to pick somewhere and pay those kind of prices, it better be at least very good. I won't be back, too many better places to pick from when you are an hour from home

First time visiting the turf club. Had no idea what to expect. Waitress explained the menu when we got seated. They have coke products. I ordered an Angus burger that was pretty standard with lettuce, tomato and pickles. Everything is a la carte as well so ordered fries on the side plus a side of Mac n cheese to try. All food is served on paper plates which for the price is weird to me but whatever, it's their schtick, I guess. Burger was great but so big I had to cut it on half to attempt to eat it. Cannot put it down after you start eating it because it's game over if you do, will fall completely apart. Can barely fit it into your mouth. Mac n cheese was good but for $4.95 it was a very small helping propped up on lettuce bed. My husband got a mushroom goat Angus burger. His was also really good but as you can see from the picture, impossible to eat as served. It's at least 6" high. He ordered onion rings with his and again, for $4.95 you onky get like 6-7 rings. They were good but I've had better. It was like I could taste the oil they were cooked in that made me think that. If you're looking for a super chill environment and extremely casual dining experience, this is for you. If you're expecting silverware and actual dashes to eat off of, go somewhere else. I personally think $58 for two people to eat burgers and fries/onion rings with fountain drinks is crazy, I don't care how unique they experience is. Probably won't go back even though food was good. Cost for what you get isn't for me.

I was so excited to come to Terry’s but after the way we were treated we will never return. We came on a busy Saturday and as we checked in with the host, he told us if we wanted to go to the bar we were welcome. I went to get myself and my husband some drinks and as I waited a group of gentlemen who were also getting drinks walked away to reveal 2 open seats at the bar. So, customary to how 99% of restaurants operate I was happy to take the empty seat and called for my husband to join me. The owner kept glaring at us from behind the bar and was reluctant to serve us and I just tried to ignore it cause of his known reputation around town for being “gruff”. Within a minute or two, the host comes over and in front of the whole restaurant scolds us, announcing how we stole seats from other people, after he had just told us we were welcome to go to the bar. Then the owner chimes in with the taunts saying “Get ‘em ( the male host name)” We were so mortified and embarrassed by the way we were treated that we got up and left without being served. I completely understand it’s a very tiny place and would have never just taken someone else’s seat, but most restaurant etiquette is that bar seating is up for grabs, and the host was the one who recommended the bar. His lack of proper communication followed by his rude behavior along with the owner has made this place a sour taste in my mouth. I don’t care how great your burgers are, people won’t tolerate being treated like that. It’s very unfortunate, and I’m sure the owner just laughs this off, but all mighty Kings, no matter how rich their rein, fall when they loose sight of what is truly important...... the respect of their customers. What a bummer this place has to be marked off the list. Never been more mortified and...

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to try The Turf Club for a long time, and last week we finally had the opportunity to go. When we arrived we went in and the hostess informed us that there was about a 45 minute wait which was reasonable.Once we sat down the waitress took our drink order followed by our meal order. We waited an HOUR to get our food!!!! Yes you read that correctly an HOUR for a burger and onion rings, which arrived to our table 10 minutes after they closed.(The food came out wrong by the way) The restaurant was not busy at all yet it took an hour to receive our food. A few times we noticed the cook just standing there doing absolutely nothing looking like he was bored. The staff started cleaning around us and made us feel unwelcome and rushed. My boyfriend decided he wanted a beer prior to receiving our food so he tried to get our waitresses attention as she walked past our table a number of times. After multiple attempts she finally acknowledged him and he ordered the beer. A while later we were brought our bill and we realized he never received the beer. After looking over the bill I noticed the charge for the beer we never received. When she came back to our table to get our payment I brought it to her attention that we were charged for a beer we never received, and instead of her apologizing or offering to get him the beer she just went back to the computer took off the beer and dropped off the new bill. We were both highly disappointed with the service we received and the food was definitely not worth the wait time, the hour wait for our food, or the rudeness over the beer. We will definitely NOT...
