Star's Cafe — Restaurant in City of Amsterdam

Listen it's simple don't go here if fancy is your thing period ....Old school cool for me and my son in our opinion

Greezsy spoon type place with an awesome breakfast at super cheap prices.... Sure service is slow but who cares as there is plenty to look at hanging on the walls and local people are great regular nice folk if you actually take the time to smile and simply say Hello . Me and my son got looks the second we walked in but it's small town upstate NY and we weren't from around there so what's the big deal ? Grow up it happens !!!

The waitress is also the cook and there was only one other person working so maybe that's why it's super reasonable and easy on your wallet ...gotta give a little to get a little thats it ! Yep may be a bit slower then some may like but who cares ...it's not IHOP where they rob you for everything and costs you $60 bucks for breakfast for 2

Sit back enjoy the food and the experience, and stop complaining about the obvious stuff anyone knows going into a type of place this clearly is even from the outside ...and that's not a bad thing !

You won't get super clean , you may wait a little longer then your spoiled complaining type of person you are so shut your trap and be happy for once you actually found a place where the person who took your order and didn't even write it down gets your food 💯 and order correct !!

Then when your done like the amazing older local woman sitting at the counter who set the right example for me and my boy ,get up pack your plates neatly and be nice enough to walk them back to the kitchen and put em in the sink like i then did too....Enjoy the different experience you were lucky to have and stop complaining !!!

You went to eat off a highway not be pampered as if your a King or Queen and fyi you ever think maybe they picked up on YOUR ATTITUDE, which is maybe why you have got a slight one back ?

Amazing food ,nothing but nice people and simply a different experience then you may be used too...and in closing THANK YOU for this little...

I was pretty excited to find a place that is only 15 minutes from home that had good reviews. Went today with my adult children and grandson. We were treated by a very friendly guy who let us know to get your own drinks and that she was busy and would be to us when she could. We had no problem waiting as we were talking and enjoying a beautiful day. When the waitress came over to ask if we were ready to order, I proceeded to order 2 eggs over easy and French toast. The waitress response was 3? I said 2, she then said 2 eggs, I said yes. She said 2 French toast and I said yes. She rolled her eyes and then it was my daughter’s turn to order. My daughter asked what comes on their turkey club (the menu does not have any details) and her response is stuff that comes on a turkey club. And again rolled her eyes… as my son went to order and asked for a bacon egg and cheese with egg, she proceeded to make fun of him because he said egg twice. Honestly I have never met a waitress with a bigger attitude problem. We left. I cannot comment...

Truck driver- I went into this place said hello and asked for coffee. Rude old lady said “this is a cafe I’m givin you coffee” I should have immediately left with this attitude being the first red flag however I was hungry so I asked for a menu. She rolled her eyes and waved her hand towards a small rectangle piece of paper near the condiments. Someone else came in about 5 minutes later and ordered close to the same thing I ordered. Yet he got his food before I did. After eating I went to pay with a debit card and she rudely told me it was cash only. I had to go to the gas station to use the atm. Not one sign that says CASH ONLY in that place. I would have never ate there. Will neverrrrrr eat at this place again. Food was decent but the grumpy old lady was not worth it. I’m not saying she’s racist but I was the only Spanish person in that place and the only Spanish person getting attitude from this grump. TRUCKERS DO NOT STOP HERE TO EAT! GO DOWN TO DUNKIN DONUTS YOU'LL GET...
