The Deluxe Grill in Geneva, NY, exudes classic Italian charm and impresses with its ability to accommodate diners seamlessly, even on a hectic Friday night without reservation—a commendable feat for any establishment. The ambiance likely strikes the right balance for a comfortable, yet authentic dining experience.
Upon a culinary evaluation, The Deluxe mostly hits high notes with its offerings. The ravioli, a staple in any Italian restaurant, evidently met expectations with its perfect balance of cheese and seasoning enveloped within a delicate pasta shell, denoting both freshness and culinary skill. The chicken Alfredo, another beloved classic, a creamy delight with its rich, velvety sauce clinging lovingly to perfectly cooked pasta and tender chicken pieces. Spaghetti, possibly the most iconic Italian dish, was prepared al dente and paired with a flavorful sauce that honors traditional recipes. Shrimp fettuccine had melded oceanic sweetness with the savory depth of garlic and herbs, leaving us sated and pleased.
Despite the largely positive food experience, not everything on the menu lived up to expectations. The eggplant dish, expected to be fried to crispy perfection, instead arrived baked—which while healthier, may have missed the mark on the expected texture and depth of flavor that frying can impart. This hiccup, though minor, is a reminder that even the finest restaurants can sometimes falter on delivering against diner expectations.
Hearty praise is due to the waitstaff, particularly the waitress who attended the table, whose excellent service undoubtedly contributed to the overall dining satisfaction. Exceptional service can elevate a meal from good to unforgettable, and it appears that The Deluxe Grill understands this aspect of the dining experience, employing staff that are attentive, knowledgeable, and personable.
In summary, The Deluxe Grill stands out as a beacon of Italian cuisine in Geneva, NY. With the majority of their dishes being described as 'top-notch', it is clear that they prioritize quality and authenticity. A slight misstep with the eggplant notwithstanding, this restaurant shows that it not only serves excellent food but also understands the importance of service in the dining experience. Read moreThere is a serious issue with the accessibility of The Deluxe Grill at 156 North Genesee St. in Geneva. On Saturday, June 29, my family, including my 26 year-old son with cerebral palsy, went out to The Deluxe Grill to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival, we discovered two entrances into the establishment and none had a ramp. The hostess told my husband that the better entrance would be the one directly into the bar. This door had three stairs, whereas the other head at least six. My son can only ambulate short distances using a reverse Rollator walker( for longer distances he needs a wheelchair). Stairs are very difficult.
Even using the walker, he struggled to get into The Deluxe Grill, as there is no ramp. Once in, he had the the almost impossible task to maneuver through the crowded bar, and then busy dining room to the assigned table.
I had made reservations on June 20 by calling the establishment directly and speaking with an employee. I specifically stated my son’s needs at that time. There was no mention of stairs, nor the accessibility of the establishment.
Exiting The Deluxe Grill, in the same manner, my son fell down the stairs to the outside. As you know, walkers are not sufficient on stairs. He not only injured him himself, but was also duly humiliated. It was a heartbreaking scenario.
How can an establishment offer service to the public, but only one...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at The Deluxe Grill in Geneva, New York, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the hearty, flavorful dishes, everything about our meal was outstanding.
We started with the manicotti, which was perfectly prepared — rich, creamy, and generously filled with a delicate, savory cheese blend. Every bite was pure comfort. The eggplant Parmesan was equally impressive: tender slices of eggplant, beautifully breaded and layered with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. It struck that perfect balance between lightness and indulgence.
To finish, we treated ourselves to a classic cannoli and a dish of vanilla ice cream. The cannoli was crisp and fresh, filled with a luscious, slightly sweet ricotta filling that felt like the perfect ending to a delicious meal. The vanilla ice cream was smooth, creamy, and just the right refreshing complement.
Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the setting made it feel like a true neighborhood favorite — relaxed, genuine, and full of heart.
We left feeling satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit. If you're in Geneva and craving a great Italian meal, The Deluxe Grill is a...
