My wife and I came out here for a 'date night'. We didnt wait long for a table even thought they were fairly busy on a friday night. We were there about 7 pm. We were given some 'italian' bread shortly after we sat. They had a nice setup of Olive oil, red pepper flakes, parmesan cheese and S/P already on the table. They have some raw garlic in the bread basket with some butter pats.
We decided to try the Fried Bologna with jalapenos for an appetizer. It wasnt anything amazing but hey, its bologna and jalapenos! It had a nice sherry sauce actually. The fresh jalapenos had some good heat to them. I added some of the sherry sauce into my 'italian bread mix'. I smashed some garlic on my plate, added some S/P, the oil, parm cheese and some red pepper flakes. My only frown was that they didnt have some nice aged balsamic to add buuuuuuuut... I know how expensive that stuff is since Ive worked at restaurants for a long time.
My wife ordered the Veal Picatta and I ordered the Italian pork chops. We both had pasta with red sauce and she ordered the ceaser and I had the house salad. We also ordered a bottle of wine since we dont go out often and it was a good time. They didnt have the bottle we initially asked for but the 2nd choice we were still pleased with.
My wife enjoyed her Veal dish. She said the sauce was nice and lemony. The only downside was really it was a tad salty to her but not overwhelming and there was a lot of sauce. My pork had some pan seared mushrooms, some roasted garlic and seared jalapenos. The mushrooms nicely cooked, the garlic was well roasted and again, the jalapenos had a nice heat to them. My only issue was the same as my wifes. The sauce was also quite tasty but a tad on the salty side and a bit heavy with the sauce. We didnt get any dessert since we were too full. We didnt even eat our pasta sides. They do have some nice selection of desserts and I think come from a local bakery.
Overall, I would give this place a 4.5 /5 stars but I cant do that on google. The service was good and so was the food minus the small issues we had. That would be my only tidbit of advice is to cut back a little on the salt in the sauces and possibly put about 40% less sauce on the plates. There was more than enough to fill up a few slices of bread to sop up the sauce which I did do. They give you more bread if you ask and the portion amount is enough to not leave you hungry after. This place is definitely worth a try if you are visiting Geneva or want a nice italian meal. There are a lot of other places in Geneva to eat that I will have to try but I found a place I would be happy to go back...
Read moreFrom the moment you step into Torrey Park, you're greeted with a beautiful, warm, and welcoming atmosphere. The chic and well-designed interior sets the stage for a truly memorable dining experience. The food is simply incredible, with each dish offering a unique and satisfying flavor experience. The homemade ricotta, mozzarella, and pasta are standout items on the menu. Each bite of the ricotta and mozzarella is a creamy, dreamy delight, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients. The pasta, made from scratch, is a testament to the skill and passion of the chefs. It was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of bite, and the sauces were rich and flavorful. The craft cocktails are equally impressive, each one a delicious blend of flavors that complements the food perfectly. Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for my sister here. The experience was nothing short of top of the line. The food was incredible, with each dish showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality and flavor. The presentation was equally impressive, with every plate looking as good as it tasted. But what truly sets this restaurant apart is the excellent customer service. The owner, Allison, leads by example, ensuring that every diner has a perfect experience. Her passion for hospitality is evident in every detail, from the attentive service to the flawless execution of each dish. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that all of our guests were well taken care of. They were attentive without being intrusive, and their professionalism was evident in every interaction. It's a place where you're treated like family, where the food is made with love, and where every detail is carefully considered to ensure you have the best possible experience. I can't wait to return and create more beautiful...
Read moreNot a great experience and the response that was given the solve the problems at hand were not at all what a good customer service experience should entail.
First, the food was okay. Not great, but okay.
The worst part was the service. The restaurant was not at all busy and it took almost 15 minutes for someone to come over and offer us drinks, and we maybe got attention three or so times after that and it just seemed like most tables there were not getting attention they should have. This was disappointing but it is okay.
When it was time to pay, each party had a discrepancy on the receipt. It took multiple times to have it taken care of on one of the receipts, and then on the other was charged extra and when asked to change it, got three different answers from those working (which by the way were not in a friendly way). The manager had then stated there was a FIVE dollar up charge for gluten free pasta. It wasn’t posted on the menu, and I feel like 5 dollars for gluten free pasta is ridiculous and entirely inaccessible for those with celiac. I then had felt as if she gave attitude when asked to fix it. There was no apology, or any sort of remediation.
Again, if the restaurant was extremely busy I can understand, but it was really quiet so the mistakes seemed more careless than they did out of haste due to the...
