Number One Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in City of Oneonta

I'm a former chef with over 20 years experience in restaurants. I also never write reviews but I had such a nice experience I felt obligated. I'm six months new to Oneonta and on my family's advice had been ordering from China 19. Which has been all right with no real complaints except for the that you can tell most of the food was probably not prepared in-house and most likely out of a can or freezer or even worse dreaded Sysco products. So anyways back to number one Chinese I ordered last night and picked it up. Whenever given the opportunity I always try to peek in the kitchen and did so. It was nice and comforting to see how clean it was and organized. It was a good sign that the people cared about food.Now down to the food. You can tell by the vegetables used and the quality of the product that these people really do care. Everything was prepared nicely and had a nice homemade taste about it especially the sweet and sour sauce you could tell it was homemade. I will definitely be ordering again from this place the food exceeded my expectations from the small little restaurant and comforting knowing that the food products were well cared for and prepared in a clean...

Don’t go here, I was missing things from from my order, the cold sesame noodles were so watery and slimy they sucked, no rice in the combo, the chicken that was supposed to be mild were spicy, for some reason and the soup was so salty I had to add half a water bottle to it just to be able to drink it. And worst of all the shrimp lo mein barely had any shrimp and it gave my mom food poising. The only okay thing was the overpriced iced tea. When I called up just now to explain how horrible everything was they laughed at me and told me basically too bad we make so much food everyday it doesn’t matter sorry but oh well. Do not spend ur money here if you can help it. And I used to love coming here so this is so sad an beyond disappointing to see this place go downhill just like oneonta...

Horrible place. Waited over 30 mins for food. The waitress was also one of the cooks, it took them 15 mins just to bring water. When the food finally started to arrive, only 3 people were given the food and it was burnt and had no flavor. The waitresses dropped the egg roll right on my lap, the sauce for one of the meals was spilled on the table and in my water, which they never cleaned up. Ended up walking out. Very disappointing place to eat. The lighting was poor, the table cloth was ripped, one of the lights kept flickering on and off, and outlet the was almost shoulder height when sat down at the table looked like it had been on fire a few times and was scrubbed clean and wasn't even cleaned well.
