Food has been good, but I have concerns over safety for food allergies. We have eaten here multiple times, over the last few years. I have dietary restrictions and have ordered appropriately and informed the server when we dine in. When I order online I select the correct option to either get the gluten free option or pay the up charge for the “go gf” option. My concerns are from having received various items when I order them on different occasions. Once when we were dining in I ordered gluten free French toast. I was very suspicious when a delicious looking brioche like bread came out. I even mentioned to the server that it seemed too good to be gluten free, and she chuckled and said yeah the chef is amazing huh. So I took that as yeah that’s just how good the gluten free French toast is. But then I order it again another time and I get a very obviously gluten free bread version. This made me very suspicious that I received the wrong food before. I also have ordered the “gluten free plain bagel” and got a very delicious bagel. Was surprised at how good it was. But another time I order the same thing and get an Udi’s bagel, very different from what I’ve gotten before. It also isn’t described to have cream cheese or anything on the bagel, so I ordered today and put a note in that I wanted it untoasted and plain, expecting just the bagel, but when I got home I saw it was loaded with cream cheese. Since it was already labeled as a plain bagel I thought my note of “plain” would have been taken as nothing on it, especially since it isnt listed with cream cheese included. I had to throw it away because I can’t eat cream cheese and also I was expecting that delicious bagel I received before, that I now suspect I received a regular bagel. I feel my trust has been broken here and it isn’t safe to eat anymore. I am so disappointed to have lost another of the very few options to...
Read moreWe looked up dog friendly eateries. This location was listed and we have been here 3, I will say again, THREE times with the puppy inside to dine. We have a (7 mo old puppy, about 9 lbs) service dog in training. He is hypo allergenic. He did bark a few times but was quited down and did not leave our table. The customers around us did not even know he was there until he made noise. I do have to say the food is really great and our waitress was very sweet. We were told right away they welcome dogs when its summer outside but then seated us and said “you are totally fine now.” Half way through our meals; we were approached and told; “I have to ask you to hurry it up.” The manager was concerned what the puppy would do because music was being set up. We would have been done before it started. That was incredibly rude because we were seated and we were told it was fine. We would have left if this was their policy as stated in the beginning. We also took him out right away when asked to hurry it along. So our $85 lunch was good enough to take the order and our money. We did not finish our coffee or soup. I will add that the manager who sent over two sweet ladies did not come herself. We did see her. This should and could have been avoided by a take out order. We were shocked by the statement half way through our meal as we were enjoying it. That quickly changed! Now, we will not be back as disappointed as we are by the rudeness not because of the policy. Please take the restaurant off of Bring Fido and do not seat anyone if this truly is the policy. Stating outside seating for dogs is perfectly fine. Edit: Thank you for the reply to our review. However the manager was there and we were told we were totally fine in the beginning. Issues should be handled with a manager to avoid blaming staff for not...
Read moreI went there last week with my husband, my three year old daughter and my husband’s family. Unfortunately, we went to lunch during my daughter’s naptime and she was worse for wear. The owner of the establishment, whose food I felt was reminiscent of home (and whom I didn’t know at the time was a former Long Islander, where I grew up) took care of my child’s needs as if she was her own. The staff made her a pink lemonade drink because she wanted to be like Pinkie Pie. They added a dipping sauce to her pancakes so she’d eat her meal… she came back to the table with my husband, who had been walking back and forth with her, perfectly content and managed to also get her hands on a tiny cannoli with chocolate shavings. The owner and the staff saved our lunch and our sanity. After talking to her, I found out not only did she move upstate as we plan to, but she and her husband opened the restaurant with every intention of making parents’ lives easier as they have three sons of their own, and have little games throughout the restaurant as well as hammocks outside for their enjoyment.
I could go on and on about the food, which I’d give five stars on its own, but the service just puts them over the top and off the charts. I’ll be in there again just to speak to the owner again. She was calming, so sweet and I just can’t think of enough positive things to say about her!
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for this amazing...
