The restaurant side certainly looked very good from the pictures and reviews and I looked forward to trying it.
Now I can say the restaurant side IS nice –somewhat too white (like you died and went to cloud-based heaven)-, warm and comfortable temperature-wise. The ten-foot-long, gas fireplace yields radiate heat that is a really nice touch.
If you are VERY specific they will prepare whatever you ask for and do a nice job of it. But, If you leave ANYTHING up to chance, you should be prepared to get it their way; This may not be your way.
The food is good; the pizza is excellent. Be specific and have your orders read back to you if you have ANY issues with allergens, wheat/gluten, thickeners, GF pasta, bread crumbs/croutons, or cheese (grated, dusted, inside). [I'm serious, have them read it back to you AND think while they do.].
With that in mind, while this place has had its ups and downs over the last decade or so with changes in ownership, I can firmly state that now it's VERY GOOD again.
The pizza is excellent, and no one outdoes their pepperoni pie slices: further, It has that authentic Peekskill Pizza feel once more (less sweet and less salty), with lots of additional excellent takeaway options from a full menu.
I didn't realize how good Peekskill pizza generally was until I left the area. What's interesting to me, is that these folks have managed to capture the profile of an "older", to me, more traditional type of pizza: A bit like the original Napoli's, if you were lucky enough to enjoy that pizza in Peekskill, that long ago (BTW: they are still up in Lake Mohegan).
It also seems that these owners have changed the atmosphere of the dine-in side; The formerly closed-in feeling, sit-down dining area seems more open and inviting: you can easily see in and out, but it's still insulated/separated from the in/out pizza side of the operation. I'm looking forward to trying that side of their business.
I've developed gluten intolerance, so I only enjoy a slice once in a GREAT while, and I pay the price, dearly. But in this case, it's worth it.
My family loves the pizza here, and we (They) get it frequently. We've enjoyed a few sit-down meals on the dine-in/restaurant side.
I highly suggest trying this place for good, and subtly, specially, different...
Read moreI asked the delivery person to leave the pizza on my porch or in my yard because I have the virus. He instead told me that he was leaving it at the group mailbox (which is shared amongst several elderly people). I told him to leave it anywhere but there, even ten feet to the side of the mailbox was fine. Keep in mind, this mailbox is about fifty yards from my house. The mailbox is the only place I CAN'T go. He said that wasn't his problem, so he left. So the pizza was left sitting there to rot where I couldn't get it. The delivery person didn't need to go out of their way to make me unable to get the food, but that didn't stop him from doing that. I'm having a really hard time as it is and I'm taking self quarantine very seriously. Having people do cruel things like this to me during this time doesn't help. I shouldn't have to choose between putting my neighbors in danger, and starving to death. Again, the delivery person could have put it anywhere, but they deliberately put it in the only place I can't go. Needless to say, I'll never be ordering from here again. I'm having a hard enough time as it is, I don't need people going out of their way to be cruel to people who are in...
Read moreIt’s been awhile since I’ve eaten here like almost 3 years after a conflict with the second owner. Well new ownership has arrived once again. Food I still no comparison to the original owners. I say it has gotten a bit better since the second owner, but not by much.
Starting I got the chicken roll which was a bit pricey about $9.50 with a little bit of peppers it tasted bland and sharped more like burrito. Also, the garlic knots wasn’t crispy at all even after 10 minutes. Tasted like old stale bread. Also, two slices, one pepperoni and one sausage, they were paper thin I accidentally bit my tongue. No moist crust at all.
Also, got 2 cannolis and a 20oz coke which were alright nothing to complain about, extra star there.
Also, the bill came to $33.35 with credit cards charges and tips. Not worth it at all. No good pizzerias here in Peekskill / Cortlandt anymore have to get pizza at Brooklyn when I’m there sad how a local pizza place drops so much after the...
