This was our first visit, on a Thursday night. The menu is very different depending on the day of the week so be aware of this and check their online menu when you make your reservation. It also appears they offer a fish fry on more days than just Friday. The location is very secluded, nestled in beautiful trees and a minor view of Pewaukee Lake, and has both inside and outside tables. Unfortunately, we asked for an outside table on this warm night but were told they didn't have the staff to make it happen. On our way out there were people dining outside so that was disappointing. Our server Michelle and busser Tea did a great job and even tho they were both super busy we were well taken care of. Being a Thursday night we had some interesting options including the specials. We decided to try the Ribeye with veggies and a baked potato and it was delicious and a good size serving. We also ordered the full rack of Ribs and that was different. They were well cooked but the sauce was more tomato paste than BBQ sauce taste. While it wasn't bad it was not as visually pleasing and did not taste as expected. This is a personal preference so if you like a hardy BBQ sauce please ask for a taste test before ordering to make sure it will meet your expectations. (The special Beef Ribs roasted had a different and non-BBQ sauce, so be sure to test that one also. It didn't interest me so I avoided it.) The french fries served were all over the place in being cooked, but that's because they were all different sizes from tiny and crispy to large and limp. There is a large drink menu to choose from and the servings are nice. However, we were too full to have one of the tasty-looking desserts. All in all our bill for two women was just over $103 before tips. Not bad for the amount of food served but each dish was a bit of a surprise. We will probably try again because the service was excellent and there are more items we would like to try. But it was not a night to remember, just one to eat out and take home leftovers. The decor is typical supper club style but somehow the room is not too dark. And even tho they have just celebrated their 95th Anniversary, the atmosphere is not old, but more traditional. Lots of windows is nice. One thing to know is that the staff has been here forever; our server for over 25 years, and a long-standing staff speaks well of the owners/management. Many generations have held this Club and you can tell they care. Give it a try and judge for yourself. I think it is worth it.

Unfortunately the service has gone down hill dramatically! We have been coming for years - 40 or more times but this past will be our last. We waited 1.5 hrs before getting seated arriving early; with people behind us on the list being seated before us in parties of 2. Our waitress forgot about us entirely. The food came out before the sides, the water and condiments. We had to wave her down for the water and sides. It was awful. She blamed "the other girl" whoever that was as it was not her job to do that part? The fries were great as always so that's a plus but the fish breading was very thick so left mine for the garbage disposal, no left overs desired. Can't say much about the sides as we got those after the meal was delivered so no comment there. The alcoholic beverages where inexpensive but heavy on the bitters, very strange as they were known for their brandy old fashions in the past. It's so sad that our favorite place for years has diminished so much the past few times, we will not be back. I'm sure no one will care (as they could care less we were there tonight, as regulars, to begin with) but the nice thing is, there are plenty of other fish fries in the area and lake country that are outstanding that we will go to going forward.

Arrived at 7 on a Friday during Lent — no surprise, it was packed. We were quoted an hour wait for a table of four, which felt about right judging by the crowd. Luckily found a spot at a bar table and didn’t have to wait long for drinks. The place is big, with what felt like hundreds of people packed in, but the sunset over Pewaukee Lake gave it a nice backdrop. Classic Wisconsin supper club vibe — warm wood, low lighting, and lots of chatter. I really wanted to love the food. I went with the perch, but fries were the only side — no potato pancakes, which was disappointing. The fish was just okay, slightly overcooked. Fries tasted like they’d been sitting in old oil. Best part of the plate was the ranch and coleslaw. Overall, it felt a bit like a production line pushing tables through fast. Top Tom Tip: If you go on a Friday during Lent, plan ahead — bar seats are your best shot at avoiding a long wait, and the atmosphere is better there anyway.

I do not remember the last time I went out to eat and was just disappointed with my entire meal. I was looking forward to eating here because every single person in my community talks about this place like it’s a five star restaurant. I went there excited and with high expectations…not of the ambiance or décor, but with the food. The food was the absolute worst part. For the first time in my life I wanted to return my plate and even ask for my money back so I could take it and eat something appetizing. However, I ate it all and gave it a chance. Sadly...

For all the people who love this place, I have to wonder where you regularly eat? Everyone told me to get the fish fry. My baked cod was bland and literally dry. The serving size was a joke too. I was told it was a good portion size. For a kid maybe. The fries. Ugh- dear, the fries. Roundy’s has way better frozen fries. I only finished them because I was hungry. The bread reminded me of perhaps a $1.00 loaf you can get on the sale rack at Sentry. And this was just my meal.

My husband had the classic cluck chicken. I’ll save the details and simply say that he would’ve preferred his rotisserie chicken at home with homemade side dishes. I guess it was that bad.

Our appetizer was deviled eggs and I saved this for last because I strongly urge people to avoid the stomachache. The BEST part of our meal was the unsweetened ice teas and the average service. Our server was nice and given it was quiet she did not disappear too often.

But for goodness sake, save yourself from this food. Go to a place that makes REAL food that TAKES GOOD and is worth every penny. For this $$PRICE$$ there are so many places you can eat and and enjoy your food. Sorry, but I wish someone had warned me before my husband and I had a...

Came in from out of town and the first place we wanted to go was “the 5-O,” as our friend, and LONG time patron calls it. We had a table of 9, most of us ordering drinks and everyone ordering dinners. My children (ages 4 and 6) were sitting at the table, with their headphones on watching their tablets, not making any noise or exhibiting ANY bad behavior. A woman in a chefs coat came out to our table, shortly after our food came out, and after being “thanked” by my kids (unprovoked) for their “yummy food,” this woman told us we needed to have our children put away their tablets as it was “distracting other guests from their dining experience.” My first response was “they have their headphones on…” she continued to say that it didn’t matter if they wearing their head phones,” they have a “standard” to uphold and she simply couldn’t allow it. She made us put the tablets away which resulted in my 4 yo crying and my 6 yo questioning what he did wrong. Our children are not allowed to use their tablets ever at our dinner table and we monitor and limit their use, BUT we wanted a nice dinner with our treasured friend and allowing our kids their tablet meant we’d be able to socialize and catch up with our longtime family friend. Our dinner was ruined. The servers were oh so apologetic (though it was NOT their fault) and ultimately it resulted in us cashing out and NOT continuing our visit there with more food and cocktails. Also, it’s guaranteed our next time visiting from out of town, we will NOT be patronizing this establishment....
